Scooters, long a way of transport in cosmopolitan European cities, may indeed be the way of the future. Modern models with emissions-compliant, incredibly fuel-efficient four-stroke engines ( there's a model that gets 200 miles per gallon) could really make a difference right now in America's energy consumption. Especially if people used them for what they are at best at: things like short commutes, light errands and student transportation.

Twins Scot and Matt unveil the joys of scooter life as they tour us around LA on their matching Vespas. They will wiz through traffic and show us LA vistas that only a scooter rider could know and love. Come see what is possible on two wheels.

    • Seems fairly dangerous. I can see the appeal but as a cyclist, I know the risks so I wouldn't want to make my commute even more dangerous. Hope those guys make it out alright each day they're trying this mess.

    • When I was in Monterey CA at the Defense Language Institute, I owned a scooter for just about my entire stay. There really was nowhere I couldn't go that I wanted to - even with a passenger. I traveled as far south as San Simeon and all the way to San Francisco and all over the city. It was cheaper, more mobile and the sense of freedom was unforgettable. I've always wanted to live something of that lifestyle again. Perhaps, someday I will.

    • Cool video but it just cracks me up because scooters are super common in San Francisco so this isnt much new up here...hell theres a regular scooter cafe right by my house! Wish more people down south would adopt this trend!
