In joining the military, troops give up some basic rights. The vagaries of combat sometimes require it. After all, the military is not a democracy. But, recent events and complaints about the religious components of the Army's mandatory Soldier Fitness Tracker (SFT) test show theocratic abuses that cannot stand.
