Japanese Anime Political Ad Gets 219,000+ Hits

ToBeNowhere
An animated political ad for the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan has received over 219,000 hits since the party posted the video last Friday. The "Propose" ad features a man, who looks similar to Yukio Hatoyama of the opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), as he attempts to convince a woman in a restaurant to choose him with campaign promises. Prime Minister Tarō Asō, a self-professed manga fan, has called for parliamentary elections as members of his own party have called for his resignation amid sagging approval ratings. The latest polls show DPJ outpacing Asō's LDP.
