    • This is an amazing story that needs to be told. I had heard alot about the food crisis in Haiti and was wondering why the price of food had risen sooo much when I know there are alot of farmers ready to sell their crops. This is the reason why I love current tv to learn the real story about what is going on in the world and not the candy coated repetitious stuff that's on Fox News!

    • Thanks for linking both parts of this story.
Reagen Lolo (SODA) reminds me of a man I used to work for who fled Haiti from fear of kidnapping, torture or worse over 30 years ago. He and his wife's activism damn near cost them their lives. He managed to get a small loan to open a record store that specialized in World Music, one of the first of it's kind in the US and I was fortunate enough to be his first employee.
To this day, I have yet to meet anyone as loving and generous as that young couple. I lived with them for 3 years and learned more about international policies and politics than at any other time in my life.
50% of the profits made from his store went back to his friends and family who were living in utter poverty and chaos.
10 years ago, they moved back to Haiti to help show others how to be more self-sufficient and fight for their rights.
I have not heard from them since.
