This idea is totally ridiculous! If one wants to know what Barack is about and what he intends to do one simply has to listen to the man. He is all about the American dream. He says there are no red states or blue states. We are Not to be pigeon-holed. We are Americans who are going to elect the best man for the job, Barack Obama. It's as simple as that. Do not waste time listening to these "talking-heads" blabbering on and on endlessly about what they think about the nominees. These so-called reporters are paid to say what they say. Take the time to watch and listen to the speeches and watch the nominees. There is No comparison as far as I'm concerned.

Exactly. Those who oppose say that he is just pitching a dream, but who said we need to stop dreaming? Isnt that what they taught us [the kids] and what they continue to teach? You can touch the sky and do on....but this man is wrong for his message? People need hope, its not false hope unless you make it false hope. I like dreamers. They bring a new reality. Quote that.

Um, it aggravates me to no end when ppl say that Obama is playing or has been playing the race card. Grow up. The man is an articulate black man who is aware of it. He is aware that some people are going to go against him because he is black and ALSO that ppl are going to go against him because they just plain dont agree with his policies. He's no idiot, he doesn't need to play a race card.

Oh, and the fact that McCain is a washed-up, pandering old man doesn't have anything to do with it? The man couldn't even complete his military mission without getting shot down. We simply can't stand for someone mediocre.

yes you may get ripped apart but it wont be about race issues. it will be obamas supporters vigorously defending their candidate. not telling you your a racist. AND- just as a side note, without doubt there is a majority of people who sadly have turned this into a race issue in some ways. its not the candidates, i have heard numerous times, this past weekend to be exact- someone say " I would rather have an idiot in office than a black man". shallow and sad. if there are any race issues it has deriven from the population, not directly from Obama or McCain.

Obama has been using the race card from the start. You can't criticize any of Obama's policies else you are labeled a racist. Don't believe me? Post a anti-Obama story on this website and see how fast you get ripped apart.

JohnA:
Well, John, you know why? Suddenly this country has the opportunity to make a cultural wave that has potential to dramatically improve relations here and abroad. And closet-racists and those afraid of change are doing everything in their power to dirty Obama's image. And you know what? WE AREN'T GOING TO STAND FOR IT! So, why don't you sit this round out. Because we're smarter, stronger, and morally superior to you.

JohnA:
Once again John you make this sweeping claim and back it up with nothing. Please, show me one time where Obama has "played the race card" first with McCain. One time. And before you climb up on your high horse about the face on the dollar bill thing (a pretty mild connection to race) take a look at the date in the corner of this McCain Ad.

The people who post on this site do NOT represent the Obama campaign. If you have a specific issue...take it up with the individual who posted the comment. But attributing their comments to the Obama campaign only makes you look stupid. Oh...one other thing you could try is taking a look at your own comments. Maybe the reason you were called racist is because YOU posted something that sounded racist.

JohnA:
Way to focus JohnA.
How can Obama avoid the race issue?? That's my question. You are acting as if he has to pretend it is not there and if he mentions it once, then he is at fault. I don't see things the way you see them JohnA. Forget about your jaded 'liberal'-bashing mindset regarding this site or the media in general, do you really think John McCain has been running a race that hasn't once, not once, put the idea that Obama is 'other' and 'different' out there. In my opinion, those are codewords for 'uppity' and Black. I just can't see it any other way.
I love how you act like this is an 'issue.' You say: "You can't criticize any of Obama's policies else you are labeled a racist." Well . . . who is talking about policy here?? Where are the issues, the discussion?? Even a disagreement?? This is all McCain manufactured bullshit. Now, he's doing a good job of getting Obama off message and the media in a frenzy. There is no question. And I was just remarking on how the McCain campaign sees this as its only hope of derailing Obama. No liberal bias on that, just political analysis, or are you to partisan to even see that.

McCain has been waiting for the opening to preempt the race discussion by saying it's Barack who's doing it. The 'faces on the currency' comment was that opening. Notice, McCain's surrogates have been pushing this hard, not McCain himself.
