America fears gays more than terrorists

bansheewail
The government's more afraid of its own gays than international terrorists, said MSNBC's Keith Olbermann.

After firing over 300 gay translators under the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," which prevents gay and lesbian personnel from serving openly, the military is now preparing to offer retention bonuses of up to $150,000 to those who remain, as the Christian Science Monitor reported Tuesday. The policy that put the military in such a position, which Olbermann called "moronic," he notes, remains in place, as costs to replace the translators, in bonuses alone, could reach $45 million.

"George Bush," Olbermann said, "has told us for seven years that Iraq is the front line in the 'War on Terror.' John McCain has screamed it at us for seven months and talked about needing to keep an American presence there from anywhere from a month to a millennium. But we're kicking out Arabic translators who want to stay, while we're offering $150,000 to the ones who want to leave."

"The U.S. military, the presidential administration, and our nation as a whole are officially more afraid of American gays than of Middle East terrorists," he closed. "That is insane."

The following segment is part of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann, aired on August 5, 2008:

    • Vitamin,

Your association of what I said with the Westboro group and the Funeral of Mrs King is ignorant and if you speak about hate, I like to remind you that there is 100 X more hate coming from Gay groups toward others if they disagree with their lifestyle.

You can start there. That would be a good beginning.

Gay marriage kills one parent, divide the sexes and destroy the right of children to have a mother and a father.

Feelings for another person and True Love are two different things

      Love is not selfish

I don't have a mother, and neither of my parents are gay. I turned out fine. They may preach about a father and mother being best for a child, but psychological studies have proven otherwise (I'm a psych student, so I would know) and even putting that aside, the "modern" family is more often than not only one parent.

They are many studies out there with a specific agenda.

People have less and less respect for so called professionals due to having been mislead by dishonest studies.

Be aware, it takes much more than saying you are a student in a specific field and that because of it, you should know.

The situation of the family has deteriorated for many years.

Is this what you called the modern family ?

100X more hate? What have the gay rights groups ever done? They never picketed at funerals. They never said, "thank God for dead soldiers." What have they done that is so bad that warrants them being called terrorists. Name one thing.

Gay parents adopt children that might elsewise be in group homes or the foster care system. Denying them marriage is denying their families the respect they deserve.

    • Wait, what? Did I see seriously hear this right? They're wasting up to 40 -million- dollars because they're too stupid to take what they can get? What, does being gay affect their translating abbilities?! "Oh no, my gay mind is to distracted by its own gayness to do my job".

      That seriously is insane.

    • Homosexuality is one of the cancer that threatens the country from within.

Equal rights does not mean taking the rights of other.

Many Gays activists are confused about that

    • soleil10:

      Here is an example.
Over thousand of years and in every civilization, marriage between a man and a woman creating a family with their own children and extending through their clan and descendants has been the core institution for our society.

People have been planning and building their life on this foundation.

Homosexuality has also existed for many years but was never recognized as marriage for good reasons

Now gay activists have decided to redefine marriage for everyone else by imposing it using all kind of tactics, including never ending legal harassments, the buying of politicians and deceit

In Massachusset people were not allowed to vote and in California 4 judges in San Francisco, one of the hot bed of homosexuality decided against the will of 4,6 millions Californians to just throw away their votes.

After the people gathered 1.1 millions signatures, gay activists tried to have judges cancel a new ballot initiative and now are working with Jerry Brown to change the text of the proposition to a complete distortion.

This is just an example out of many where under the disguise of equal right, gay activists are abusing the right of others.

The effect of 40 years of attack on the American family by liberal promiscuous behavior and the abuse of the democratic process will no doubt come back to haunt this country at great cost.

The definition of same sex unions and marriage are quite the opposite of each other.

You can disregard what I wrote but you do not achieve equality by taking it from millions and millions of people.

If the people had been allowed to vote on interracial marrige it wouldn't be a right today. A vote to desegregate schools; a vote to free the slaves; a vote to allow women to vote, the list goes on. No one should be allowed to take away the rights of others, no matter what kind of dogma they operate under.

Vitamin, then start by not taking the right of other people

Gay is not the new black. That is a lie and a grave insult

The issue of interracial marriage was an issue of superiority of one race over an other.

Marriage is about bringing man and woman together.

Gay marriage is about separting men and women. it is about taking away the right of children to have a mother and a father. It is not about equality but about immorality.

History will spit on same sex relatiationships that are against nature.

It is about being a coward when someone cannot face their sexual addiction issue.

Lies will never stand. It does not matter how manipulative gay activists can be.

Straight people who are promiscuous, unfaithful, addicted to pornography and false love are no better.

They have hurt marriage too and healthy families

You're a fool not to see that you're on the side of ignorence.
You claim that you're not a homophobe, yet you compared homosexuality to cancer and addiction.
You're on the side of the Westboro Baptist Church who picketed at Coretta Scott King's funeral because of her gay rights activism(they're also antiSemites, but that's a different story).
Gay marriage brings together people who love each other and the only thing keeping them apart are nosy people like you who try to impose their religion on other people.
Get you're facts straight before you go spouting nonsense. Hate is the cancer that is killing this country.

This is truly the most fucked up administration ever & our country's real worst enemy, continuing to take us for the most ridiculous & expensive ride of our powerless lives. We can only hope the insanity is almost over & start restoring the dignity & most appropriate people our country has to protect us-without all of the inane policies from our inane leaders.

Actually, that is a great point. Is there not a law that has been recently passed that allowed the Government to imprison and seize all assets of anyone who destabilizes or attempts to destabilize the american war on iraq?

In that case could the military not be considered complicit in this crime.....oh wait, it's america and the military can rape kill pillage and burn anything they want because the only law they answer to is their own.

    • The lack of communication that the americans have with their middle eastern opponents is going to directly lead to the death and horrible dismemberment of more american soldiers.

But at least they don't have to be around gay people when they have their faces burnt off and arms and legs amputated.

I guess it is important for the american children who will grow up without their parents (who were killed in Iraq) to know that their brave dead parents didn't have to work with gay people.

4134 american deaths as of this message. How many could have been avoided with the aid of proper communication? How many more will you sacrifice?

      Support your troops america?

Let's please be serious about our decisions, Bush. Don't let your homophobic feelings get in the way, like how you announced the war at the time where every american would rally right behind you out of pure anger.

As you can see, decisions made like that never contain a good reason unless you are a creative spirit... I don't think I see Bush as one into the Arts.
