India Woman Burned To Death In Anti Christian Violence; Churches Destroyed

In another forum I was shocked at the Anti-Christian attitude from posters here in America even.

The title above was confirmed 8/28/2008 by BBC News.

In this century more Christians have died for their faith than in the other nearly 2k years combined. Let that sink in.

First of all. These people were only Jesus Freaks in the light that they died for their faith. Most did not own a bible, although that is a cherished and protected item that some, not many house churches have access to. They often share bibles among many. In most of the countries owning a Bible is punishable by death or indefinite imprisonment.

Now think about that for one moment. Death for owning a Bible. We cannot comprehend that here in the United States. This is common especially under "Islamic States" where Islam is the mandatory religion. And is also common in communist and we are seeing other governments doing the same.

These people lived in fear and knowing that death is often the consequence of believing in God and Jesus.

Did they go around making condescending comments? Hell no . Did they quietly worship in secret? Yes.

So before the politically correct brainwashes and blinds you to the plight of even Christians around the world...

Below are examples of stuff that happened THIS WEEK.

    • Hi Globewatcher,
Does this mean that human life and genocide isn't important if the people happen to believe in a God?

Innocent people - Genocide = atrocity

It is the government of the countries that is doing the culling, slaying, genocide, what ever you want to call it.

So is religion the evil? Or the government that commits genocide?

      Stuff to consider.
Humans are humans. The innocent should not be harmed. period.

    • religion is dangerous, and so is the bible. i do not condone the killing of innocent people in any arena. governments are in competition with religions around the world to control people and get their money. this post is an example of human attrocities that take place every second around the world. i think the reality of religious persecution is that religious peolple really care about it, and the rest of us, really dont. as i said, killing innocent people is horrible, but bringing it to the fore on the religion theme will not be very effective. these same governments are doing horrible things to many other parts of their population. because you are religious does not make you special.

    • I had no idea what was going on in Orissa. The biggest problem with religion is that people openly kill for it. Religion is about unity but it also creates the biggest divides. Tragic. Will we ever live in a world where all religions can practice freely with out blood being split? I doubt it. Pretty freaking sad

innocent Polar bear life > innocent human life?

    • Do not forget to have foot bathing facilities for the muslims in america.

It is surprising how solid muslims stick together. Not one Muslim will stand up to denounce this.

    • So you're saying that the recent Christian slaughter is caused by the fear of a power upheaval?

That was well done, btw, but what's your point? Do you want us to stand up for the Christians being persecuted? Because in all honesty if it's a power struggle, then that's something that they have to deal with. It's very regrettable that people are being murdered for following an organized religion, but it's more of an internal struggle in a given country than an all-out attack on a certain faith.

    • Nettle:

      That is an awesome question.

I just didn't want this atrocity to continue in silence. It is obvious that most people, at least in America have no idea what's up.

      Read the other forum.
It is obvious that religions tolerance is politically correct for every religion except Christianity in America. Is this an accident? No. Seeds were planted, and America "evolved".

That's how it starts. I was showing how it ends, actually it's not the end. Far from the end.

      1. What is the point? To become aware.
      2. Action I would like from this: For Americans to become aware of what is happening in silence.

      Simple.

For those who what this to end...

What can we do? Contact our congress for NATO or US sanctions to countries who routinely practice genocide based on religion (any), race or other inhumane acts.

      Again, Simple.

Do you have to take action? No.
      That is a personal decision.

      Does that help?

I am not super religious or anything. But what is happening to these people is Genocide in the millions a year, hundreds of millions actually. When I learned of that, it made me cry.

For the record the AIDS crisis in Africa also makes me cry. I am just that way I guess. Americans know about AIDS, they didn't know about this.

    • THE PROBLEM

Annually over 250,000 Christians are brutally killed for their faith in Jesus Christ. Millions more are actively persecuted by governments, neighbors, and family members.

This has been going on into the billion mark. I had trouble pinning down an exact number for the last 100 years simply because
the number is ever increasing in countless places around the world.

It is silent. Why? Politically Correct.

Anyone else shocked by this? I bet America thought this ended in the days of Rome. It didn't.

People often say that Christians killed in the Dark Ages, well the number is minute compared to the slaughter every year of Christians now.

    • Nettle posted this earlier in another forum on the same subject:

In ancient Japan (maybe not ancient, but I don't remember the era), Christianity started gaining popularity. The government who was in control at the time followed Shinto (traditional Japanese religion) and decided to stomp out Christianity by persecuting all of it's followers.

It wasn't hatred against the religion itself, but it was a threat to their position of power, so they got rid of it.

Does anyone know if this incident is anything like that one?

      Yes, Nettle.
Actually in the last century there have been more Christians slaughtered than any time in the past history combined to date.

Why doesn't the press pick this up? Well, it's not politically correct, to report against any major religion. Also the price of getting this information out by any news media is too high. It has been through many other sources that information has been gained. And all report the same findings. It isn't propaganda, as some here might think because for us it's unfathomable.

This website keeps a country by country policy on what happens to Christians or Muslims that convert to Christianity

I'll give you the example of Sudan, only because I gave a presentation on this exact problem, and I am not a religious fanatic. Don't walk around with a bible in toe. Maybe I should... But I don't. I am just a regular girl. I saw something that made me cry and I researched it extensively and gave a presentation about it.

I have one personal philosophy in life.. Actions are louder than words. If people realize I am different and want to know why... I sometimes say I pray a lot. But I don't take it further unless pressed.

      Anyhow...
When I gave the lecture in 1999 It was not against the law for any Muslim to kill a christian in Sudan. Let that sit in your mind a second. It was perfectly legal in this Islamic country for people of Islam to murder Christians. period.

Christian churches were (and are) not aloud to be built nor maintained and were destroyed systematically, including people's homes that were used as churches.

For anyone that did not renounce their Christian religion and become Islamic immediately... (this was in a Christian community way up in the mountains that they actually found Christian families - at one time 25% of the country was of the Christian faith, now after the systematic slaughter there are no statistics on this, they will not take a census.) this was a typical fate:

At that time, christian men were slaughtered in front of their families and the women often raped, and many at a very young age. They were sold into slavery along with their children.
Houses and neighborhoods burnt to the ground.

I saw reports of Americans going into Sudan and buying Christian slaves (posed as Muslims) for approx $15 per slave. I believe Voice of the Myarters reported much of this, but many sources, Christian and secular from Free countries helped in this action.
A small percentage of the slaves were set free.

Were these Jesus freaks? Well, they died for their religion, but no they were not fanatical or obnoxious with it like people here are talking about.

Many didn't own a bible even. Most worshiped in small groups in houses. Owning a bible that would be considered most precious by the Christian house churches was punishable by death without question.

Did they go around saying "oh you must be sad you aren't a christian?" Hell no. They were living in the faith of their God under the threat of death, and for an Islamic person to kill a Christian, it was not a crime in Islamic law, in 1999.

      (cont, sorry long)

Here is the progress made to date:
Sorry it's copyrighted, so go to the link above.

For convenience I can try to summarize the information and add it here. But you can find this in any number of pages about persecution.

Due to actions taken by world governments, life has gotten better "technically" although there are still flourishing reports of Christian Persecution through out the Islamic state.

In the north conversion to Christian is punishable by death, and the Christians are still being killed by the Muslims in the south, they are supplied with weapons by the government. The official government policy is that there is religious freedom, but the state religion is Islam and policy is that all must convert to Islam.

To us that doesn't make sense, but to them I have a feeling they are distinguishing between Sunni (65% of the population) and (at least 69 percent of the Sunni are black Africans and call themselves Arab to lead a life with acceptance in the Arab country.) It is unknown what percentage is non-Muslim at this time under the "freedom of religion". I think that term is between sects (major 2) of those under Muslim religion, in this Muslim state.

New Non-Muslim, specifically churches are not aloud to be built, and old ones not aloud to be maintained or fixed and most if not all have been destroyed by Muslim forces.

All sounds like it's getting better, but inside sources say it has not changed very much.

This is one example of one country. There are hundreds more where Christians are being Persecuted.

      Thanks.
