On another note - while bear hunting is legal in North Carolina, the hunting of bear cubs is not. Whoever did this was not a true hunter and even McCain-supporting/Obama-hating hunters should condemn this act.

It would have been evil enough if this creature were an adult bear, but this is a bear cub !! Look at that face and tell me you don't see the fear and despair on this creature's poor hapless face !! This shows what I've been saying all along. Palin is an animal terrorist guilty of cruelty to animals- a crime. And she leads by example. Now that monster has got her evil supporters to commit to animal terrorism too. We should not put up with this !! That H.R. Rep. from Minnesota advocates that the Press begin investigations of anti-American public figures...Where the Hell has she been for the past 3 months? HELLO. Palin & her husband are so immersed in their
anti-American secessionalist party that they hate America. And yet they are running for the White House? I say it's well nigh time we petitioned the new Congress of 2008 to investigate the Organized Criminal anti-American activities of Palin, and bring this God forsaken fiendish monster bitch to Justice !!! - 3 years ago

More violence errupting in the face of republicans. This was in my home town, and i sure as hell didn't see this happen at obama's speech. These people tried to block palins convoy.... Looks like the cops are in on it too. No warning, no exchange of words, just a cop/pedestrian wrestling match.
Goes to show what type of people vote for douchebags! I'm curious to see if there has been any flack from obama supporters towards mccain voters.
Come on.... a bear? these people obviously have other things on their mind than just casting their ballot for our next president. Maybe they shot it from a copter thinking it was a wolf. I love me some blood and guts but this lack of etiquette and respect makes me fucking sick.

It's interesting to see this mention of individuals going through the effort to place Obama posters over the bear in mention. I'm sure they are looking into where it came from or at least the cause of death and then in turn will show more of the negative and extremely desperate measures Republicans are willing to take and show these ignorant and unwilling to accept change kinds of people we really need to be worried about.
I'm glad I live in California. At least the Republican people here can argue their ideals and views in a civilized way. I have not seen any violence or heard of negative actions taken as extreme as I've seen around the rest of the country. It seems to me that the States in which Palin made her remarks about being "more American" are the same areas, (sorry to say) that these extremists are taking out their aggression in.
It's an obvious sign of being scared and down right ignorant. Individual's unwillingness to accept change and welcome individuals from around the country and more-so, around the world, to be the way they are and not alienate them because or the color of their skin, the religious views they have or the political right they have to choose who they think is the better person to fill a role is why we have so many negative audience members around the globe because certain people refuse to be open to change.
I embrace Obama's ideals and his blatant honesty about spreading the wealth, making things available to those who can't afford it like education, health insurance, and living assistance by taxing the individuals that CAN afford it. If I made more money I would give more to charity, accept the taxing at the end of the year so i could help children and senior citizens get along to enjoy their lives to better our future and live the ends of their lives in a comfortable and happy setting without the stress that comes with no health coverage or medical subsities.

There are no liberals in the 50-mile vicinity of WCU...so as far as J_Jammer's assertion that it might as well just be the left instigating...I think thats preposterous.
The left wouldn't know what to do with a gun and a bear anyhow. And how about all these other things - Obama canvasser punched in the face, tires slashed, a reporter being kicked down by a McCain supporter, etc. This would be a very well organized and nationwide campaign on the part of the left to instigate attacks to cause problems.
These attacks are committed by the same sort of no-brained idiots that got us in the mess in the first place.

while I agree that this act was most likely a McCain supporter than not, even if its not a McCain supporter, McCain still has a responsibility to condemn these actions just as Obama has a responsibility to condemn any anti-McCain actions. not saying anything is saying that its ok...and yes while this act may not have been committed by a McCain supporter, McCain needs to take a vocal stand against it to discourage any of his real supporters from committing similar acts.
I do have to say that its close minded to say the left wouldn't know what to do with a gun and a bear anyhow. I am a liberal yet I was raised shooting guns and although I would never shoot a bear aside from self defense, I could. Many left wingers are hunters and gun lovers...we just care more about other issues than our precious lil riffle ;)

Has the McCain/Palin camp come out condemning these recent burst of aggression towards Obama? Ive been out of the country so Im just curious if Ive missed a public condemnation. I watched the debate and in it McCain was asking Obama to condemn negative words towards the McCain camp so Im curious if hes living up to his end by condemning negative actions towards the Obama camp.
Although I doubt it will do any good, I did see footage of a McCain rally where he tried to say Obama was a good man and calm his crowd and he was meat with boos and shouts of terrorists. It seems they have spun propaganda and fear that they can no longer control.

Everyone is already divided.
This just brings all of the most emotional points up for people to fight about and fucking with people's minds; tricking people into fighting each other in competition for their beliefs.
This just highlights the divide.
Democrats feel they're alienated from what McCain is saying and McCain supporters feel alienated from Obama's message. The rest of us just feel alienated from the whole thing, so they either vote for the one they hate the least or we don't vote at all.
I personally think they should count up the not-votes and if that is the majority then there's no super-centralized governments.
t could get broken down to just governors of states and we'd have to live like that. And if no one votes for them it goes to counties. It would encourage local growth because they'd only deal with states and counties around them.

This incident is horrible. Just killing a bear and leaving it to makes some sort of political point is disgusting.
However, some hunting is necessary to keep the bear population under control. Otherwise, you end up with bears in your backyard, which isn't so good.
If you look it up, bear season is limited, and hunters are restricted to 1 bear per year--I imagine the number of permits are limited as well. And most hunters eat the animals they kill, they don't just throw them out.

....and still McCain apologists keep trying to make the arguement that its "equal" on both sides.
Nope.
The violence and (for lack of a better word) the terrorism are coming almost exclusively from McCain's dwindling legion of die-hards.
Much like the ultra-violent dead-enders (to paraphrase Rumsfeld) who refused to stop supporting Saddam after he was captured....so too is there a small hardcore group of McCainiacs (aptly named) who want McCain to win so bad that they will do anything.
And as McCain slips further and further behind their frustration boils over into increasingly disturbing acts of violence.

She said she was TERRIFIED by Sarah Palin, because she reminded her of Stalin and Lenin. Using similar practices like dismissing those that do not agree with her, surrounding herself with gophers and having a huge temper when she does not get her way...all these things have her scared about the possible Palin-McCain presidency.
These kinds of behaviors are ridiculous, immature and just plain dumb. But it goes to show what is at stake. If you don't vote in this election - and if you don't vote for Obama - you are voting for more fear, pain and divisiveness...
