Powell Endorsement About Race!

Image

This is a great op-ed piece listing Republicans who are endorsing Obama, quite obviously not because of the color of his skin. Its nice to have in one concise location the actual words used by conservatives in their endorsement of a democratic candidate. It also make Rush Limbaugh look like the addlepated bigot he really is ^_^

    • Nobama girl just... just stop. Please. For all that is decent and good. You are obviously grasping at anything you can to make your case, and it's only making you look more foolish. McCain is NOT gaining, and even if he were, he's not gaining in the electoral college. He's gone. Get ready to face east and pray to Allah (sarcasm).

    • Actually I was hoping that your alter ego liberalextinction would respond but that minister was a very good man... .

Anyway, I digress... why would it matter if MLK was a republican? You are aware that many of the very leaders he challenged in the fight for civil rights were also republicans... so what is your point?

    • That Minister from was a good man, and a good Republican, why do you suppose that was. I watched my mother cry all night when he was killed by a RACIST DEMOCRAT .

“That Minister from was a good man, and a good Republican, why do you suppose that was.” I’m guessing that English is not your native language (and if true, there is nothing wrong with that)

    • No, I reject this premis, Powell is voting for Obama because he is African American. He is lying if he says different. A handful of Republicans means nothing, especially these Republicans. You know, kinda of like LIEBERMAN is to the Democrats.

ohh and you know this because ... what he is black so he cannot possibly have any other reason to back Obama? Wow!!! I am amazed at the logic and reason you apply to developing that theory...

as usual you are a brainsurgeon...and not spreading racist stereotypes like the GOP...

    • okay... I will keep it really simple... nobama. At the top of this page there is a link that explains the post... read it and understand why your comments on this page and that of liberalextinction... make no sense.

So again... if Colin Powell made his selection based on race... then how do you explain the other conservatives who are now supporting Obama? ... please just look at the link and try to learn

Again, reading, thinking, breathing all at once... but I beleive you can do it if you try.

    • okay this is a pop quiz... nobama and liberal did you bother to look at the link so that you could see all the non black conservatives that are supporting Obama?

That was the point of the post... If you reduce Powell to race then what about the rest?

Or are you suggesting that all conservatives support racist smear campaigns?

    • Even if Powell were voting solely due to race, is that a problem? Everyone can give their endorsement to whomever they please for whatever reason they have. I laughed really hard at the 'racist democrats' part of nobamagirl's post. like liberals would want their votes anyways.

    • You guys are kidding me, right? Have you listened to the words that came out of Powell's mouth, or are you just listening to this cretinous blowhole? He clearly stated the reasons he is endorsing Obama. Anything else is just speculation. Not to mention, the racial overtones have NO place. He's stated that he's tired of the way the Republican party is going. Is that so hard to believe? So, that's his choice. Either stick with the GOP, which he is clearly disenchanted with, or promulgate change. He's going for the latter, not the former.

    • Has anyone come up with that list of extremely liberal, inexperienced white people that Colin Powell has endorsed? It may not be his ONLY reason for the endorsement but it damn sure doesn't make sense when you look at his political life up to this point. I genuinely like Powell and have a helluva lot of respect for the man, but his political career has always been VERY conservative in nature and it just baffles me that he would cross over to support such a staunch liberal pissant like obama.

Just wondering, where were you during the civil rights era... were you alive then? What did you happen to think of all those upitty folks demanding equality...

Can you beleive all those naive people who followed a movement led by a minister from georgia who had absolutely no qualifications to change the world for the better? Were you as pissed of back then at the prospect of change?

No, I have great respect for Martin Luther King Jr., he was a man that believed in bringing out the best in people of ALL colors. I think it's a pretty safe bet that he'd be disgusted today if he saw the epidemic of "entitlement" that is spreading through America like wildfire today. I firmly believe that he would be disgusted at vermin like sharpton and jackson pimping their skin color for advancement instead of building people up based on their morals, ethics, and values. I think he was a great man and I think he had it right, he wanted his fellow Americans appreciated for their positives, not excused in spite of their negatives.
