No on Prop H8

No on prop 8 = family and children too.

My best friend has two moms (see that at http://abbmp3.com/), and they have two really great daughters.

"Gay" isn't a disease, it's not contagious, it's not going to hurt anybody, it's just a way of life that's different from you.

Gay men can't have their own children, so if they want to raise a family, they'd be giving a kid without a family, a home and parents that love them, that's a good thing.

Vote No on 8 . i am a black lesbian who is being descriminated once again, just as in the civil rights movemonte! I thkin those of you who don't want be to be married don't have to come to the wedding!

I have to say that people have a right to their own opinions. I will vote yes on prop 8 because I cherish the true alue of marriage. My religion states that a marriage is between a man and a women. No one can tell me that my morals are incorrect, it is just what I believe. You can do whatever the hell you want, no one can stop you, but when it comes to marriage (for me) it is between a man and a women. Oh by the way one other reason I will be voting yes is because went to Disneyland during gay pride week (had no idea it was going on). All of the gay/lebians were running around with red shirts that said gay days 08. It made me disgusted, if you want to be treated qual then act equal. Do I run around with blue shirts that say hetro days 08'??? To answer my own question, no I do not. It killed me that this took place at Disneyland! Like I said do what you want but why subject little children to see this? They have no concept of why two men or women are swopping spit. I will tell you one thing, I do not think we should have to tell our children that there are people out there that like the same gender. I value the defenition of marriage, and it was placed for a reason. Sorry guys ): I don't havproblems with conservative gay people but I don't believe that mariage is defined as marriage to a man and a man or women to women.

This isn't even about marriage or gays for that matter, it's about equal rights. There was a day when Blacks and Hispanics were told who they were allowed to marry. It was barely over 50 years ago when segregation and internment was not only legal but excepted. Apparently we don't learn from our mistakes. And when I say we, of course I mean the idiots that would support this arcane proposition.

i can't believe how uptight people are! you'd think they'd be worrying about the fact that their kids are getting a total crap education, can't compete in the global economy, they are losing their houses, not whether 2 people want to get married!

I agree. Giving them one inch is giving them an inch on all issues--they will not stop until divorce is illegal, single parenthood is illegal (as Soleil10 herself has admitted), having children is mandated, Christian faith is required, and civil rights are abolished, etc.

NinePounds6 made a point in a joking way above that still should receive some serious attention. Banning gay marriage is only the tip of the iceberg for the agenda of these people. Their ambitions go much further. They want to strip gay and lesbians of all their civil rights and repeal all the laws that protect them. These people even oppose any measure to combat school bullying--shows just how much they really care about children--as so many of the children bullied are either gay or perceived as being gay. Many of them have publicly stated that they want to see homosexuality made a criminal offence--not sure what they're going to do about the Supreme Court ruling on that one--and that they want it reclassified as a mental illness by doctors. So, their plans for gays and lesbians are just beginning, sort of like the Nazis for Jews in early 1930's Germany.
They are not only going after homosexuals. A large part of their programme is to totally take away the right of choice for women. If these people have their way, all terminations of pregnancies, even in cases of rape, incest and threat to the life of the mother, will be banned. All women, and men, should think about that one.
Internationally they want to eliminate all assistance for family planning to poor people in the Third World, so that these people will not be able to control the size of their families and when they get pregnant. Nor will they have the means to protect themselves from HIV-infection.
In this country, they want to ban sex education and have only abstinence education, despite a major US government study showing that abstinence education does not work. I guess that they think that it was such a terrific success for their poster girl Sarah Palin's daughter and her High School drop-out, hocky-playing boyfriend that every student should enjoy its benefits.

Ah, but that's the sort of dishonestly, nastiness and double standards I've come to expect from the Prop H8 crowd.

Hopefully this gets on the front page, I would like people to read and think about it.

Just thought I'd share how out there some of this people like Soleil10 who oppose same-sex marriage are. Straight from the mouth of Soleil10 herself after being asked if she would make it illegal to have children single. She tried to weasel out of it for about 5 PMs then finally showed her true colors and how opposed to freedom she really was. And somewhere she made up the idea that single parents want to be considered married. What?

its funny that in the United States, we claim to be the home freedom and equality, but when an issue such as gay rights is brought onto the table there is all of a sudden a disagreement..way to go America, freedom and equality for for everyone, right?

Marriage makes no reference to sex, neither does it approve sex between the two (you can still be raped by a spouse, and recently one man was almost convincted of it). So why is it marriage that you have a problem with? And further, why are you so concerned with what others do in bed? And FURTHER, why is it that straights who have anal sex (and they do!) may marry yet gays may not? Explain yourself.

Decency and equality is what our nation is founded on. The hate of folks different than the mainstream needs to stop. The ugliness harms everyones soul.

Not a problem with two same sex getting married..within the civil law that allows homosexuality to be a human right..Sure I love my fellow humans my brothers and sisters my family..but to say that the act of a Man putting his Penis into someone elses Anus..I have to draw the line on this perversion..the human gender has gone down hill for many years to almost an Animal(sorry to all animals)response without any Principles or Standards about what others think.If gays are not already happy with being recognised as human..why take it further..to diminish recognised laws for straights.Have a wedding or whatever but it will never make any difference to the fact that they are gays.so I am afraid its a big No from this person...ps.Have a great life though'

If you have any decency, vote NO on Prop H8. I am proud that the first year I cast my ballot will be in support of freedom.
