You're an idiot! Haters suck! You hate Bush that is clear. In the past 8 yrs we had the lowest unemployment rate in decades. Highest home ownership ever. I think every middle class home has a least 1 computer and at least 2 cars. We not doing as bad as the liberal media would hope. We are not going to lose in Iraq or Afghan. as the liberal media would hope. Why hope this crap. Because it would make Bush look good, they're haters and you all suck!

Darink, Darink wake up Darink your having a nightmare! Are you okay? You were mumbling and tossing and turning in your sleep.
Here are the facts:
The unemployment rate (6.1 percent) was unchanged in September, following a 0.4 percentage point rise in August. The number of unemployed persons was little changed at 9.5 million. Over the past 12 months, the number of unemployed persons has increased by 2.2 mil-
lion and the unemployment rate has risen by 1.4 percentage points. (See table A-1.)
The unemployment rates for adult men (6.1 percent) and blacks (11.4 percent) rose in September. The jobless rates for teenagers (19.1 percent), whites (5.4 percent), and Hispanics (7.8 percent) were essentially unchanged. The unemployment rate for adult women declined to
4.9 percent, partly offsetting an increase in August. The unemployment rate for Asians in September was 3.8 percent, not seasonally adjusted. (See tables A-1, A-2, and A-3.)
In September, the number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) rose by 167,000 to 2.0 million, an increase of 728,000 over the past 12 months. The long-term unemployed accounted for 21.1 percent of total unemployment in September. (See table A-9.)Info comes from US Department of Labor: http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm
Darink, you can go back to sleep now. We Bush haters will watch over you. All will be well. We will wake you when it is over.

XlntJoyce:
The misleading claim by the republicans is how the democrats have had the majority and have done nothing. Below are the reasons as to why this is so.
CURRENT SENATE SEAT BREAK DOWN
Party: Republicans
Leader: Mitch McConnell (Kentucky)
Last Election: 49 Seats held by RepublicansParty: Democrats
Leader: Harry Reid (Nevada)
Last Election: 49 Seats held by Democrats
(+ 2 Independents: Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Joe Lieberman of Connecticut i.e. Non-Democrats)Essentially Bernie Sanders and Joe Lieberman are in the middle. They supposedly caucus with the democrats; however, as we all know, Joe Lieberman seems to be John McCain’s right hand man thus he has sided with the republican vote more than not. This does not make a strong majority! In fact as you can see it essentially makes it a fifty-fifty split. Wait there is more (the filibuster).
THIS IS HOW IT BASICALLY WORKS. If a bill passes the House then it moves to the Senate. The Senate can pass or vote the bill down. If there is a tie, the Vice President, (Dick Cheney), is the one who is required to break the tie. If the bill passes the Senate the President can still veto the bill thus it fails. If the bill makes it through the House, the Senate, and the President, it becomes law. AS YOU CAN SEE THIS IS NO MAJORITY BY ANY MEANS.
THIS IS KEY!
The democrats keep being coined as a do nothing and/or as a miserably failing congress. This is very misleading. In addition, a little known or understood fact or at least one that is either overlooked or ignored by the masses is that of a filibuster. The term 'filibuster' is seen as a tactic for pirating or hijacking a debate or a vote.
The parliamentary procedure known as a FILIBUSTER, or "talking out a bill", is a form of obstruction used in a legislature or other decision-making body. An attempt is made to infinitely extend debate upon a proposal in order to delay the progress or completely prevent a vote on the proposal taking place. Thus the republicans literally can and do hamstring (block) the democrats from accomplishing much of anything. With a republican President to back the republicans, the democrats have essentially been incapacitated.
Going into the 2008 election, the democratic strategy clearly envisions reaching a filibuster-proof majority of 60 in the Senate. The point here is the democrats have not been able to accomplish much as they are easily blocked by the republicans if the republicans so desire it. Obviously they have so desired!

WHEN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH VETOS EVERYTHING THAT COULD DO SOME GOOD THE IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE DEMOCRATS. iT FALLS BACK INTO THE LAP OF A REPUBLICAN CONGESS AND SENATE. aLSO WHEN TTHE REQUIRED 60% OF THE SENATE CANT BE RAISED TO OVERCOME A FILIBUSTER THEN BUISNESS IN OUR LEGISLATURE WON'T MOVE. tHE ONLY WAY ANYTHING GETS DONE IS BY RAILROADING EMERGANCY MEASURES TROUGH AND THEN THE TRUTH COMES OUT LATER.

That's not that hard to see, just by his body and facial language and Other reaction when Obama gets anywhere near him. Maybe more so because of Obama being of Orient descent, and looks, Maybe McCain Had a drug induced flash back, dreaming
that he was still a POW and thought that Obama was a Gook (N. Vietnam fighter) On top of that, being black and that Obama’s father had some Muslim beliefs, this Is something the Republicans and religious right will exploit for all its worth to them.
This is being fed the public by McCain and Bunch. Then McCain acts, as if he respect the guy ( Obama ) who he is running against. My view Bull Shit, all McCain wants is a seat of POWER, for no other Reason, but to have it and get his suppose just deserts. - 3 years ago

ah....the rewriting of FISA, mostly eliminating judicial oversight represents a serious erosion of your rights. We could talk about the pre-rewrite illegal spying on Americans but that`s too obvious. We could also talk about the enhancement to federal prosecution powers to include confiscation of property w/o process (yes, you can sue to get back the property but try winning against the government).

Esp since it could have been worse considering Clinton left us w/ gas prices rising ($1.41 at the end), altering CRA even further making more open to foreclosure, leaving Osama Bin Laden lose to wreck havoc on our country attacking WTC and trying for the pentagon.....so considering all that... things could have been alot worse!! So yes, Bush has done well. We have never been attacked again either but if there is ever an Obama presidency .... Yikes! Be afraid! Be very afraid!!!

Would you mind telling us what planet you have been living on these past 8 years? If you are under the delusion that Bush's plans have been a resounding success then maybe you can explain why he is most likely the most unpopular president in U.S. history, plus why he continues to demand funding a war for years that has been nothing but a disaster. Then maybe you can delve a bit on the current banking and wall street fiasco, the economy and the rampant loss of jobs in this country that increased like a plague these past 8 years? Democratic talking points? You're damn right they are and if there was no truth to them we would not be seeing some many influential republicans jumping ship and distancing themselves from a party that has the inability to get with the times and actually represent the people and what is best for this country as a whole instead of the privileged few.

He FAILED to develop any plan that would not be a repeat of Bush's FAILED policies of the last 8 years that McCain backed, voted for and endorsed like the good little lap dog he is.
He has never been able to offer any type of plans that would actually change anything to the better. He is ineffective and it has become quite obvious just how ineffective and incompetent he would be as president.
Should Hell actually freeze over and he wins the election this country will be in very dire straits. - 3 years ago

The GOP was so power hungry they forgot everything they ever stood for except pandering to the religious right to keep their stranglehold on our government.

We have learned over the past 7 plus years that George W lives in his own world. From the start of his presidency, he has all but drawn a picture of his approach to reality by hanging his favorite painting in the oval office. Its a 1916 cowboy scene by W.H.D. Koerner which, in Bush's own words, depicts " a horseman determinedly charging up what appears a steep and rough trail".
In Bush's head, that rider epitomizes George's won courageous political journey, dashing ahead against all odds. Those of you that have seen the painting, have commented that the hard -charging charter bears a remarkable resemblance to George himself.
Over the years, Bush has added a Christian morality tale to the painting, declaring that the artist's horseman was circuit-riding minister rushing passionately ahead to spread the religion of Methodism.
Its very inspiring, except for one small detail : Its not true.It turns out that his picture is an illustration for a Saturday Evening Post short story, "The Slipper Tongue"
about a slick-tongued horse thief. Instead of illustrating bold moral leadership, this work depicts an outlaw frantically fleeing a lynch mob.Now remember Bush himself said he saw himself in this painting and for once he was dead right or as they say a dead ringer. by D.Groner and embellished by me
