Barack Obama’s New Tax Plan…. Small Business Owners Please Read!

Ordinarily I would say that a person’s politics should never be a factor in employment, unless the political position would compromise the job performance.

However I have to sympathize with the writer of this letter.

Dear Fellow Business Owners

As a business owner who employs 30 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barack Obama will be our next President, and that my Taxes and Fees, will go up in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, I figure that the Customer will have to see an increase in my fees to them of about 8%. I will also have to lay off 6 of my employees. This really bothered me as I believe we are family
here and didn‘t know how to choose who will have to go.

So, this is what I did. I strolled thru the parking lot and found 8 Obama bumper stickers on my employees’ cars. I have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off.

I can’t think of another fair way to approach this problem. If you have a better idea, let me know.

I am sending this letter to all Business owners that I know.

Sincerely
XXXX
YYYY Corp.

I think it might even be illegal but I have little sympathy for those people. When a we know that a politician’s policies will destroy businesses, then the people who put that cretin in power should be the first to pay for the damages.

I also need to emphasize that this is an emotional response, not a rational one. If the business owner were to ask me I would say that it’s probably illegal even if I am sympathetic to him.

    • Who is wealthy according do Barack Obama? Obama and the Democrats would like you to believe it is CEOs of major companies. However, more than 90 percent of the people Obama is referring to as “rich” are local business owners and entrepreneurs like your family doctor, your dentist, your attorney, the dry cleaner, the local grocer, the owners of small manufacturing companies, family farmers, restaurant owners and many more.

Most people believe that they won’t be impacted by Obama’s goal to spread the wealth around. Eighty percent of the jobs in this country are generated by small businesses like those mentioned above. Being a small business owner I can promise you that there will be serious repercussions when the “tax on the rich” is levied.

When the government takes money out away from businesses, there is less money to hire people, less money buy needed inventory, make capital improvements or expansions, etc. Once Sen. Obama is elected president what is going to stop him from designating next year that all of those families earning $100,000 are the new rich? When you elect to punish success everyone suffers, jobs lost, benefits cut, less manufacturing, etc. Obama wants to take the money earned by local employers and give checks to the more than 40 percent of the people in this country who don’t pay any taxes. When was the last time you can remember one of those people creating a job?

    • In response to the letter writer, I would say:

I would have waited til you see if your taxes and fees actually do go up, as from my reading of his plans that is not necessarily the case.
Obama has some great incentives for small business.

As to choosing who gets the chop based on Obama stickers on their cars, well it is illegal, but also, it may be their wifes sticker, their teenagers sticker?

Basing your desicion of who to sack on this would indicate to me that your not a very good business person.
What if your top sales person has and obama sticker, do you sack them and give their job to someone half as good, but not an Obama fan?
Will sacking some of your best staff based on politics achieve better results for your company?
If I were you I would:
      1. Wait to see what the policies really mean for your company
      2. If you feel that due to the recession you need to cut staff, do it based on logic, reserving your best staff to help keep the company going.
      3. Treat your staff with the dignity they deserve and do not use politics as an excuse to be a moron, you are basically saying that 60% of companies and people in America are wrong. Might it possible be that you are wrong?
