A truly amazing and inspirational story.

Just found out he's been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize

As soon as I finished his book I wanted to jump on a plane and go fight injustice, his way, in a country that's less fortunate then our own.

It opens a window to a part of the world and religion we struggle to understand, shows how one person alone can make such a difference in the world, and suggesting a thought provoking way to combat the problems of terrorism in our world.

If you haven't had the chance to indulge I would highly recommend it. Make it your next read. It is a very important story and book.

If you have read it, what did you think about it? And what would be a good way to spread the word?

    • I read this book after spending two weeks building houses in a very low income town in Honduras this summer. After sharing it with some friends, we have begun discussions of a potential nonprofit organization similar to that founded by Greg Mortenson, but directed at fighting ignorance in run-down communities in Honduras. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

    • He's truly a hero, and lucky to be alive. The article says he survived an armed kidnapping and multiple fatwas. So what he's done requires enormous courage.

The Taliban fears education, especially among females. They frequently target schools, teachers and students for horrific acts of murder. Let us hope their barbarism never finds or topples the promise and opportunity these children have been given.

You should check out the book. It goes into all of that. Most of what your talking about, fearing, happened. Alot of the problem is all the money coming into these very poor areas from saudi arabia. They set up Jihad type schools and teach the exact opposite of what needs to be taught... scary and powerfull stuff.

      Highly recommend the book.

    • This is the real way you fight against terrorism, with better choices of living for those with more needs.

And look, you don’t need multi-million dollar weapons!

    • Very brave. He's lucky to still be alive. It seems like a race to bing hope to these places before extremism takes root. It's probably safer for an individual to do this work rather than a mission group, which is a shame. A lot of people could do a lot of good if given the opportunity.

    • Wow....it took kids and pennies to get the attention of people to the plight of children on the other side of the globe.

Persistents pays off. Good for him....he got what he was aiming for.
