Well, since the American's faked a Nazi rendition of an ancient Egyptian Temple and built the dam at Asswan to fuck up Africa's natural Eco system to feed a sunny US of A, and the Pineal Gland Diamond industry is big business for the US Nazi's with faked identity's of Jew's that were suposed to have escaped the Nazi war camp's, what other condtiion would you find a country in that's been made the scapegoat for the World's Underworld Medical Testing Industry, because all I see in the politic's is the cover up of whose really running their governments!

If famine and unemployment wasn't a problem in Somalia then you would see a massive drop in piracy.

Since the somalians' have nothing better to starve their people and attack cruise and cargo ships it's time to arm the ships with phalax automatic guns, they would soon get rid of the pirates.

If not the U.N., maybe just a voluntary coalition of willing countries. Call it a war of goodwill, and take it over and rebuild it. How could you do this and make it profitable? Does Somalia have anything of value to give us a monetary excuse to go to war for goodwill instead of goodwill being an excuse to go to war for money?
How can you restructure the world so that it's value and worth are in balance?
Am I suppose to care about things that are beyond the scope of my control and the current system or not?

There are multiple problems with the entire continent of African and they arguably stem from the days of slavery and imperialism. The people are vicious and corrupt and there are little resources to persuade other nations to help. Is there hope for Africa? AIDS, corruption, famine, TB and the list goes on and on and on...It's very underdeveloped there. Some countries have eradicated diseases that are killing Africans at alarming rates. What is keeping them so far behind the rest of the world? I also think that some people and in some places on that vast continent DO NOT want help from the rest of the world...

This means thousands more will risk their lives to cross the Gulf of Aden to Yemen, many dying along the way in smugglers' ships, being beaten, thrown overboard, deprived of water and food, and unsure if they will make it across alive. These are the truly important stories that need to be seen by the world community.Thankfully, organizations like Doctors Without Borders are there to help these people, but the response from the international community is WEAK. But yes, watch Somalia, for it is a foretaste of the world to come with hundreds of millions of climate refugees as well.

The Somalian people want help and yes they really do need it. However, Somalia has a HUGE black market for weapons and is overrun by battling militia who do as they please. The UN tried to send help in the 90's but they decided to leave after scores of peacekeepers were killed by the militias. The militias would take control of the food by force and not distribute it to the people. It is a sad thing to see but that place is too overrun by bandits to be helped. That is unless the UN would like to get involved in a war for the sake of truly saving people.

Somalia much better off with the Islamic leadership the US and Ethiopia kicked out.
The Islamic Republic had put an end to 15 years of civil war and the people were not starving. now the puppet govenrment is serving western interests, commercial ships are dumping their polution in the Somalian waters, the people are starving, and we are only concerned with our luxury yachts the pirates are holding. - 4 years ago

.The islamic goverment in the country temporarily stopped the warring, then it resumed.
They were not concerned with feeding the population, but with spreading their radical brand of Islam.
The people are not better off under imposed Sharia law and in the regions that are still under islamic control they routinely stone women to death in football stadiums with hundreds of people looking on.I can't see any positives for the future of Somalia, very depressing.

How quickly people forget history. I seem to remember the UN sending aid to the Somalians in the early 90's. The place was as much of a shit hole then as it is now. In fact you can watch a movie about US involvement in the region. Its called Black Hawk Down.

It is sad that a large portion of the entire world seems to just ignore the plight of millions on the African continent. Not only do the leaders of Africa need to step up and make the necessary decisions, the entire world should stop fighting and start helping.

The world should seriously pay attention to Somalia since its a failed state just about anything goes in the region, it is posing a threat to other nation's security because no one is controlling them.
Especially with some of the Pirates becoming stronger with the money they gain, who knows, probably they will try to seek even bigger gains not from the sea but from the surrounding regions around Somalia and possibly the international nations.
Just an assumption, but they way things are going it is unpredictable how these individuals will act
I feel horrible about the rest of the population in Somalia who are living in poverty

The businesses under attack by pirates need to beef up their own security measures so US and other nation's military won't have to intervene. There's been more than enough of that lately.

I read this a couple of weeks agohttp://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7650415.stm
and to make it more interesting..these Pirates are living the Lives of Kings, Money, Wives etc..
"They have money; they have power and they are getting stronger by the day," says Abdi Farah Juha who lives in the regional capital, Garowe.
Pirates guard the crew on the MV Faina
The crew on MV Faina are reportedly being well-looked after"They wed the most beautiful girls; they are building big houses; they have new cars; new guns," he says.
"Piracy in many ways is socially acceptable. They have become fashionable."

What is sad is that pirates would probably hijack an aid ship and hold it for ransom.
That area must come under control.
If India's Navy needs help, I wish they would inform the world, so that the international community can respond in force. - 4 years ago

I'm not saying that the average Somali citizen doesn't need help, but if the pirates were sharing that 150 million that they've stolen in the last year, this situation wouldn't be as dire.

In fact, it is all over the news that the pirates generously share their earnings with the people. They even respect the pirates there. They want their daughters to marry pirates to have a prosperous life.
I support the pirates. If the leading countries of the world took better care of these people instead of ripping them off of their various resources, they would'nt have to steal. It is time for them to take back some. You can't expect them to all starve to death.
And why not send some oatmeal instead of sending weapons???
