Rod Blagojevich: 'I'm on the Wrong Planet'

Rod Blagojevich said yesterday that if what he's done is an impeachable offense, he's living on the "wrong planet." Speaking to a reporter outside a Chicago law office, the governor said he was hired to fight for the people of Illinois, and that's what he was doing in his wiretapped conversations about Obama's Senate seat, the AP reports. "That was all about trying to end up with the right decision that could do the most things for the people of Illinois," Blagojevich said.

"Look, if I'd have known people were listening, I probably wouldn't have said some of the things you say in private conversations," Blagojevich said. "But I think there's probably tens of millions of people across America who talk like that from time to time."

    • Hey, this wasn't an illegal wire tap, The F.B.I. had a warrant to listen in on the Gov,s phone conversations. And the governor knew that he was under investigation by the FBI so you really have to be a dummy not to think your phone is tapped. He has no excuse, Just stupidity, What a dumb a$$.

    • Isn't it funny that those who claim to want to protect the world from the treacheries of things like communism and totalitarianism are the same ones who are tapping phones and wanting to spy on everyone? Even while hiding all of their own sliminess behind the veil of national security.
