War Machines built from Trade Towers

As long as we forge our fear and pain into the bodies of war machines we will be blind to the pain and fear others suffer under the destruction of war.
This is disgusting to me.
what do you think?

Twodee, as most of the things you add and write, contained within there is substance and true self-examination.
Thank you.
I can only add that had you and the rest of us had been the "knee-jerk reactionaries" that tend to populate the ranks of the "pro-war/nuke them all" crowd, someone who called himself a "Great American" would already have been organizing "alternative FREEDOM concerts" and "album crushing" orgies wherever these musicians were making profits on these bellicose, chest-beating, "America-Love It or Leave It" anthems.
How about kicking GWB and Dick Cheney in the A$$ until THEY find and deal with Osama Bin Laden And leave the rest of us out of their "War for Profit" plans.
One more stupid question from a stupid progressive - just where in Afghanistan or Pakistan are they gonna launch that souped-up war machine?
Do neo-cons use their brains for anything but raping the planet and cheating the rest of us in the financial world?
And to think they bashed the unpopular Harry Reid for leading the resistance against PRIVATIZING Social Security!!!!
Wouldn't it have been a great way for Republicans to get rid of Social Security by simply saying it had gone down the tubes with all the private brokerage houses?
How pompous they were in saying they didn't want the government fooling with their retirement - better Salomon Smith Barney or Shearson Lehman, eh?
LMAO!
Thanks, twodee, for another "Wake-up Call"!

This is very disturbing. It's obvious to me that we really need a department of peace in the U.S. government. This should have never been allowed to happen and it sets a terrible example. At the very least, there should have been a nation wide discussion on this topic. After all, as Americans we were all impacted by the events of September 11th.
To me this is proof that we Americans are clueless as to why 9/11 happened and apparently, the way things have been going since 9/11, we are destined to repeat it.

mjsmith, I am not saying we can't have a conversation? I am saying there is another way to have this conversation and it would serve us all very well to reach for it. Let's get creative and make real what we think we can only dream about.

I guess this thread is a good illustration of how far we all need to raise our consciousness and find a way to understand each other. I am not sure there is a question of one understanding reality better than another. It is about what we are deciding to do with the reality we have. I have seen WAY TOO MUCH simple lashing out at each other (myself included) and that is why I stay away from CurrentTV anymore. We are just taking the anger and pain we feel about what is going on in the world and throw it at each other. This makes us all equally guilty of feeding the momentum. No? Yes?

Twodee - I accept what you say at face value. I say whatever I say without much consideration about how someone else is going to feel about it. I respect what people say if I feel they are being honest, or at least feel they are being honest. You do not think building a warship out of the WTC remains is a good idea, I do. Does this mean we can't have a conversation? What is the point of having a discussion with people that completely agree with you? I have been staying away from Current because I just don't have the tie anymore. I do my best not to attack people personally. If I am attacked personally, all bets are off. I do respond directly to what people say. I notice that we might not agree or happen to have the same point of view on everything discussed here. I have also noticed that we agree on things once in a while too. Just a week ago I even agreed with something Vierotchka said, and stated publicly that I did.

"Some people still question why terrorists killed 3,000 people of 60 nationalities that day. I’ve concluded that they killed 3,000 because they did not know how to kill 30,000, 300,000 or 3 million, but they would have if they could have … and they are still trying.
This is not a war of our choosing. This is not a war we can ignore. This is not a war that will end if we walk away from the battlefield."
I will never forget seeing the second tower strike. I have a book with every name of those who died, including the brave firefighters and policemen. I never allow myself to forget the dictionary meaning of the word terrorist and how it has been perverted to mean anyone who lives on American soil.

How many terror attacks have plows prevented? Even if we made more plows and produced even more food to feed the hungry word than we do already, the dictators that starve their own population would not let the food to get to the people it is intended for. We have seen this again and again, recently in Africa and Burma. Stalin and Mao had starved more people to death than anyone.

You guys are totally out of it. You are merely projecting your own deep flaws onto the 9/11 families - they do not revel in desire for vengeance, for bloodbaths, for violence, for slaughters, for butcheries the way you guys do. Shameful.

No one is reveling in 3,000 dead. And it is insulting that you presume to speak for the families of the dead. I have friends who Were Personally affected, yes, it did miss my direct family but I am directly , You know what, Fuck you with being nice, I have friends who had family members die in the World Trade Center and someone who was in the Pentagon when it was attack and if you want to talk to them contact me via message and give me your address and I WILL BE MORE THAN FUCKING HAPPY TO LET YOU TALK TO THEM!

Vierotchka - If we let ourselves get attacked 15 times, guess what is going to happen? Until we stop the people from attacking us, the attacks will continue. Whatever it takes. We had Embassies across Africa bombed, the U.S.S. Cole bombed, the World Trade Center in N.Y. bombed in 1993 before the attacks against us on 9/11/2001. The difference is that we have a President that did something about it. President George W. Bush went after the people that carried out the attacks. When Bill Clinton was President he didn't do crap to go after anyone attacking American targets. Notice the difference? I do.

In case any of you with room temperature IQ's (I know Vierotchka's is twice that at least) don't remember, did the Japanese converting the steel we sent them to build toys prior to WWII to the manufacture of planes, bombs and battleships make us fear them or did that make their weapons carry a bigger or more deadly or more meaningful payload?
The answer is nope and neither will this stupid attempt at pseudo-symbolic phony patriotism. Maybe they should launch it on the Brazos near Waco just to make sure the real terrorist stays in Crawford.
As neocongo aptly says, "Smells like a thousand years of revenge, war and terror to me."
And timcat_blues, quit beating your chest and cursing, pal. You ain't scaring nobody. As we say here in Texas, your mouth is writing a check your A$$ can't cover. And besides that, it is on an internet message board. You're just another "internet cyberpest" hiding behind a keyboard. If you can't think well enough to say it without cursing, go find a bar and get acquainted with others of your ilk.... and leave your keyboard at home. It won't do you any good there.
