    • it makes sense to pay down debt if the collapse takes years instead of happening overnight. you don't want debt collection agencies after you. of course, that's if you want to cover all your bases, you could just flee and hole up.

    • Ammo might be the new currency after all...

The Central Bank of Zimbabwe seems to think the US and UK are headed in the right direction... towards $100,000,000,000,000 bills.

    • In another current.com post we learn than 247 families own 47% of the entire resources of the EARTH!! In the last ten years the super rich got even richer while everybody else lost ground. The Regan/Bush/Neocon economics (for others) is: more and more for less and less so that everyone ends up with nothing.

    • We the taxpayer are presently lining the pockets of the very people who robbed us in the first place. It's called a bailout of the rich. I am sure the fat-cat crooks will have no problems during the coming hard times since they will have all our money.

    • One definition of a depression is when the best economic wishes and the best economic efforts of a government fail.

The Bush regime got us here, and has now squandered more than 3 trillion in an attempt at trickle-down depression prevention; that has not worked any better than his failed trickle-down economics.
