A pro-life ad is celebrating President Barack Obama's mother's decision not to abort the first black American president, and the video has already caught the attention of more than 200,000 viewers.
The ad comes just as a number of events are scheduled in Washington to mark the 36th anniversary of the 1972 U.S. Supreme Court Roe vs. Wade opinion that struck down state restrictions on abortion, essentially installing that "right" in the Constitution.
President Obama's push for "reproductive choice" has been posted on the White House website.
It states, Obama "has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving women's rights under Roe v. Wade a priority in his Adminstration."

I am not sure who to respond to I understand that pres. obama is for a woman's choice. I understand that this country spoke and voted him in. I understand that as long as I live in this country the president of this country is my president, I will respect him and I will pray for and esteem him that does not mean that I have to agree with everything or maybe anything he does. I am not going to leave this country because someone was elected that I don't like or agree with I am an american. All that being said.....My mom chose life and could have chosen not to carry me, B. Obama's mom chose life and could have chosen under the circumstances it would be easier and more convenient not to carry him...if you are reading this your mom chose life too. hummm just wondering if you had no voice who would speak for you?
Oh and yes I am conservative but that does not mean that I hope all liberal people die or chose abortion. it means that I am conservative. ANd I didn't agree with G. Bush everytime either!

We won the election and you lost, elections have consequences and this is one of them. Oh yah here's the other thing about the last eight years that you right wingers have been duped all along by the repugnants party abortion is still legal. 8 years and they couldn't do anything about it, seems to me you were used.

What do you mean us and them, Kenny? You don't have to be a Republican to be defend the unborn, you just need a little humanity. I am a Democrat and I am pro-life. If you re-read your response, I think you might be the one duped, because it is evident you don't put any consideration on the issues but appear to vote along party lines and agenda.

The people who created this ad are most likely republican and, if they had their way, Obama wouldn't even be president right now.
But now that he is, they're going to use him to promote their message? A message that Barack Obama wouldn't even agree with.

i hope barack obama sues for unauthorized use of his likeness and/or story.
the group is attempting to divide america on this subject, while capitalizing on obama's likeness, rather than trying to promote any kind of compromise or agreement.

Fate, I wonder if Obama knows who god damned lucky he is that his mater didn't just have him thrown out with the trash, like most irresponsible abortive baby killers

i think its pretty irresponsible to call all women who have abortions 'irresponsible abortive baby killers.'
are you here to debate or to digress?

Take note of the word "most", because I think that "most" abortions are an irresponsible means to deal with an inconvenient truth, that "most" are self centered women who just damned well don't want to be inconvenienced with dealing with a life other than their own. Be thankful your mother didn't have that view, 'cause most likely you'd not be here.

my mother wasn't raped to conceive me.
there are plenty of reasons that a woman should have the choice. not that i disagree that there are some who yield such a choice so irresponsibly, but i think that number is a lot less than you'd think.
