Hmmm...
Recent regulatory trends have seen institutional responsibility for financial regulation dispersed across multiple institutions, and separated from monetary policy at the central bank. This trend may now have to be reversed.

A more consolidated and intensive approach appears inevitable. Proposals to combine the various US regulators or at least to give the Fed over-arching responsibility as a super-regulator for the financial system have received widespread support, though the details of institutional reform have yet to be agreed.

Credit policy will need to act directly on the volume of credit created, and amount of risk, independently of its price, which is the province of interest rates and monetary policy.

It will need to be contra-cyclical and apply to a broad range of institutions to be effective.
It must be dynamic, capable of being modified as the financial system evolves and pioneers new ways to circumvent the existing controls.

Yes, but they'll buck it every step of the way because they have become nothing but a criminal system geared to enrich so many people and rape and plunder the rest of the world. ABOLISH it!

    • To the degree we give up our liberties and freedoms for safety and security is the degree we are taken into bondage and slavery. Huge societies do not need individuals, they need workers. Workers that know their place and have been successfully indoctrinated into their position in society so that they are happy and content.

Maintaining individual freedoms in a global society is too difficult. It is easier for that organism to rid itself of those who buck the system and who do not comply. Freedom and liberty become bad words and concepts and it will be necessary and for the good of the society that these words and concepts not survive.

As an example, we can use the history of the Plains Indians of America, first they were demonized then exterminated like you would any vermin. All for the good of America. It was simple economics, really, they had land we wanted and by manifest destiny - we took..

But that is just my opinion.

Fortunately, or UNfortunately depending upon how one views it this process or design as it is, is not something we are free to choose or pass on, the choices which would have greatly affected the institutionalization of it were made by the populations and their power brokers of the generations between 1844 and 1957. Now it is an unstoppable juggernaut which will be imposed either with the level of warfare and resistance we see planet wide now or something far, far worse, depending upon what level of hysteria the general population reacts to it's inevitability with. Remain calm, and stay single file and not as many will get hurt.

    • The time is coming when the coin and paper monetary system will be abolished and there will only be trade with Purchasing Credits accumulated during one's working (productive) hours. When that becomes the globally instituted standard it will no longer be possible to buy or sell or provide any service outside of that system. This consolidation of credit and banking and the monitoring of it on an individual basis is only one phase of what is currently being put in place around the world. It will track every purchase made, every loan, every payment on every loan, all medical histories and procedures, all insurance claims, police reports, in short, everything that any human being does in trade with any other from the individual to the international level. The data will be interfaced completely through a massive computer network and reach into every aspect of every person's life and all in the name of security and global financial stability. People who don't think in terms of the entire planet and insist on seeing things like this current financial dilemma as something that can be remedied by the actions of a single country i.e. the U.S. or even a group of nations i.e. G8, are not paying attention to the direction the world is moving and are likely to feel threatened by the next major transition in global and individual trade. This planets human system is developing into a World Superstate which at it's beginnings will likely resemble a Totalitarian system with aspects of American Capitalism and Soviet Socialism intermixed. The financial turmoil happening now is going to move this system into action more rapidly.

    • One should never use credit anyway. Pay cash for everything, if you don't have the money, don't buy it. I don't mind the Obama administration controlling credit. The one in debt is always the slave to the debtor.

businesses will always need credit to keep their Capitalization healthy.

Good for you if you can pay cash for your house and cars. We did for our last 2 cars but never before that.

Young people can't pay cash for college and when they get out, they can barely make the payments!

    • So, if I'm correct this will give the government control over my credit report. If you think any portion of the government is streamlined and effective you are living in some alternate universe. I don't like it when three companies can arbitrarily decide on what I purchase much less having a 22 year old government institutional clerk be the one who decides, especially when it comes to medicine, which we already have.

Does anyone really want socialism? This is it, folks. The more and more the federal government calls the shots in our lives the more power the government has over us. It is a short step from there to communism. Soon, they will say, no you cannot drive that SUV because it isn't fair to the people who don't drive them, because if in a wreck the SUV drivers are less injured and the non-SUV drivers are hurt worse, so in fairness we need everyone to be hurt the same. Does anyone see the screwed logic in that? If you don't then you are primed to accept socialism and communism already.

I keep hearing about how the government needs to step in and control companies that mis-behave and have trouble running their own companies. So the feds blow this idea up your skirts. The taking over of company X and running it in our glorious government efficiency so people can have jobs to pay taxes so we can help illegal aliens to have the standard of living they want. Also, we can keep people on welfare so they, too, can enjoy what America has to offer. If you are waiting for this to happen your wait is over, we (you) just elected the man to take us there, Mr. Barack Obama and his liberal anti-American global philosophy of the rich should give and give so that the poor can have and have. A modern Robin Hood, stealing from the rich to make the poor love him and vote for him. Anyone wanna bet that the limit of two terms for president will be challenged in the next 4 to 8 years.

Mr. Obama isn't going to want only two terms, because he is our savior, right? I've heard that so many of the folks that voted for him are angry that nothing changed in his first week in office. That is child's thinking. Lets all suck on the glorious tit of American federal government and forget about responsibility, liberty and freedom. They were too much work anyway, right?

      It's almost here folks.

      I think we're boned.

But that is just my opinion.

    • This is no recent development at all in fact, this is a very well orchestrated plan that's been being formulated and progressively yet quietly implemented since the first Clinton admin. I had as a client the individual who through his company is the one putting it all together and I asked him about it when Clinton was still in office after I saw a "Sixty Minutes" report on it which consisted of an interview with him the night before. I'm not going to say his name for privacy purposes but I can tell you on first person authority that this system and all of the necessary components required to implement it are now firmly in place and will be activated in our not too distant future, and it will be global. If you watch certain Clinton photo op grandstand speeches where there are people all around him you may be able to spot who it is.
