Additionally, Schedule II through Schedule V drugs will be made available to adult members of the public at their request, with a doctor’s prescription no longer being required before such drugs can be dispensed.
The drugs being “legalized” through this legislation would include marijuana, LSD, heroin, cocaine, and ecstasy; also included will be all pharmaceutical drugs currently under restricted distribution: among those are Xanax, OxyContin, and Viagra.

The DEA simply shouldn't exist. Prohibition is and always has been a failure, all the way back to 1919. The cartels and meth labs wouldn't exist if we had sweeping legalization, and organized crime's influence would be greatly diminished.

maybe i'm a cynic...because while i agree that the dea should not exist, that prohibition was and is a failure, and that legalization would knock the wind right out of the sails of organized crime...at the same time i suspect we would have meth labs and drug cartels--just as we do today.
it's just that instead of ochoa being the gang in charge, it would be pfizer, or anheuser-busch (now part of interbev)--and we'd be getting our cut of the business in the form of taxes...which is just fine with me.
