AUDIT THE FEDERAL RESERVE ?

Image
akamaial
A bill calling for the comptroller general of the United States to audit the private Federal Reserve is gaining widespread support in Congress, as 124 representatives have added their names to its growing list of co-sponsors.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Great.!....Now to get them to read it (should an audit actually be done), would be miraculous, and even more so if they understood it......'cause many of these fine representatives of ours can't even balance their checkbooks.!

    • That should keep about a million government workers busy for a long, long time. And then they will say, "We can't say for sure but"....or "they operate in perfect standing with the law". Worse yet, they might need a bailout!!!

    • The average American does not know much about the Federal Reserve. The government and the Federal Reserve prefer to operate in the shadows. If the American public understood what their policies have done to their lives, they would be rioting in the streets. Most Americans believe that the Federal Reserve is part of the government. They are wrong. It is a privately held corporation owned by stockholders. The Federal Reserve System is owned by the largest banks in the United States. There are Class A,B, and C shareholders. The owner banks and their shares in the Federal Reserve are a secret. Why is this a secret? It is likely that the biggest banks in the country are the major shareholders. Does this explain why Citicorp, Bank of America and JP Morgan, despite being insolvent, are being propped up by Ben Bernanke and Timothy Geithner?

    • I can't believe I'm agreeing with kennym and robroy. The Federal Reserve is powerful and has a lot of shelters, but I can see the new power brokers wanting to get after them if they're a seperate entity. Could we be witnessing the beginning of a show down of the old guard and the new Robber Barons? How can I get a thousandth of a percent of the money that will be spent on this battle.

And I, my friend McCainiac, would even settle one ten thousandth of a percent. This is ridiculous. Giuess what? I must admit that I too agree with Kennynotown and Robroy!

    • People post these blogs and don't do thier homework. A lot of noise out here. The federal reserve or is a private banking company owned by the powers that control America and its money. By the way, they are unauditable, it is part of the deal they made with one president named Woodrow Wilson. See Jeykyl Island.

    • Yes, Kennymotown is right on target. These jokers are bankers who decide what they will do with an economy they don't understand. They are making decisions even though they are thoroughly confused. They should be investigated, not those who agree with waterboarding. Waterboarding investigations won't fix our crumbling economy.

    • Public demand is increasing for some kind of action against the Federal Reserve, that name has always bugged me. They are bunch of bankers and are not pert of the Federal government. And it's not what the govern ment wanted.

    • Obama has us all so busy with investigations of of the former administration that he hopes we won't notice what he himself is doing to our country. Check it out...he has everyone talking about the economy and waterboarding and interest rates while he is selling us out.

    • It won't happen, for the same reason that the bailout money wasn't accounted for. Alot of it would be traced right back to the politicians and campaign contributions. The scheme is called self-perpetuating corruption and its not going stop until people wake up.

If it can get out of the House Financial Services Committee and make it to the floor, then even if it doesn't pass, that gives a lot of "other candidates" good ammunition for the next election cycle. We need to clean up our legislative branch.

    • So stoked. My representative, John Campbell, just co-sponsored the bill. So that brings it up to 125. Also, rumor is we now have 127 sponsors, but don't quote me on that.

      Great post!

    • Why would there be any resistance to an auditing of the Federal Reserve? It isn't like anyone is asking to even have the power to regulate anything involved with the system. They simply want to know where the money is coming and going from. Isn't this administration supposed to be all about transparency?

    • The federal reserve is a privately own company that has no ties to our govt. Just the word "federal" in their name has duped many people......

Look beyond labels and covers of books, you will see the true story of this institution for what it is.....

Actually, there are members of government in the board of governers that appoints the individual chairmen of each office of the reserve. Beyond that, the Federal Reserve is in fact an independent entity.

I need to re-research the facts, but there was some sort of a big blow up, nearly a shooting I think, between the Fed Reserve and Andrew Jackson. But that's back when men were men. :-)

    • Everyone needs to make their representative aware of this... Remember just because it is presented on the floor does not mean your representative was even there OR paying attention.... Phone calls make a HUGE difference.....
