The student group behind this effort, ND Response, has made this wild hollywood style video showcasing their displeasure with Notre Dame and the President. I must say the production value is extremely high and I feel like I'm watching a trailer for some sort of hollywood blockbuster movie."
Watch it above.

brainwashed peons!
the biggest irony, i think, with religious/pro-life zombies, is that they, "support life", but through the destruction and killing of other life.
there is too many humans in this world, we're polluting our water, clearing huge forests, digging up the earth, polluting the air, to sustain our ever growing population; taking other animals' habitat, and pushing some of them to extinction. our over-population crushes other species, destroys the environment, and causes homicides, suicides, and wars between us humans, ya, what a great culture of life.
there would be MORE diversity and balance of life if there were less humans, that's the irony, we only give a shit about "humans".
so all you pro-lifers/religious drones, YOU are supporting destruction and taking of many, many, many lives; you disgust me! your logic is incomplete and shallow, you live a fantasy. things are not as they tell you. think about it...

Of course they have the right to boycott his speech if they feel that strongly about the issue. This is America -- we don't (and can't) force students to attend their own graduations.
The one thing that saddens me about this situation is the lack of any sense of proportion among these kids. I gather from their statements that they would happily toddle off to watch this president if he was opposed to abortion -- despite the fact that thousands of human lives are in imminent danger of being ended in the war in Iraq, too. As are the millions of people infected with AIDS. As are the people in the third world who face the very real possibility of starvation as a result of the economic crises around the world. SURELY they would not have us believe that the ONLY human lives worth saving are those threatened by abortion...or would they?
These kids are...oh, what is the word for which I am looking?...oh, yes: shallow.

you said it man.
they have the right to boycott. but the last time i checked killing thousands of innocents, and letting millions be killed by their government is not a very catholic thing to do.
and that was all Georgey. - 4 years ago

Would they have boycotted if George Bush or Cheney did their graduation? They are far from "pro-life".
In the end I am all for people doing what they believe in. But i have to ask if it accomplishes anything.

While I'm not Catholic, and I voted for Obama, I think that they have every right to boycott. I'm sorry that they'll miss their own graduation.

As a 1976 ND grad, I am truly appalled at the University's poor judgement in inviting and honoring a partial birth abortion/abortion advocate. I strongly encourage the seniors to boycott Obama's ceremony. Taking a stand for Catholic/Christian Values instead of participating in a publicity stunt for an abortion proponent, would demonstrate courage and wisdom.
Perhaps ND officials have failed to consider the backlash of alumni with a significant drop of financial support of the University. That will be a permanent issue. The alumni have very long memories.Texas ND Doc
