Marijuana Overdose? No Such Thing

Image
MirrorLake
Half a million people die in the United States every year because of drugs and alcohol.

Marijuana has yet to kill one person, however.

A smoker would have to consume nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana within about fifteen minutes to induce a lethal response. That would cost approximately 3 million dollars.

Ranked by dependence, marijuana is less addictive than coffee:

    • From the link...

We've been told a thousand times that marijuana destroys your lungs, that it's 5 times worse than cigarettes, and on and on. Yet here is Donald Tashkin, literally the top expert in the world when it comes to marijuana and lung health, telling us it's time to legalize marijuana. His views are shaped not by ideology, but rather by the 30 years he spent studying the issue. He didn't expect the science to come out in favor of marijuana, but that's what happened and he's willing to admit it.

    • It's amazing to me that I can't get a consensus on being careful with children and pot. Teachers and parents know that when a school child starts using pot his/her grades tend to go down. CHILDREN DO NOT STUDY BETTER WHILE SMOKING POT! I'm talking about education about and prevention of any drug abuse. Pot is a mind altering drug that affects brain cells. Where in the hell is your head at? Are you high on pot? I'm for legalization for adults with an emphasis on protecting our children's health. How in the hell can you be against that? There are people who are aware of the need to think this through, especially in the field of education. We've got to keep it out of our schools and away from school children whose brains are still developing. I can't believe this even has to be explained.

    • Yes there are minor issues with minors that can pop their life like a melon by over using this drug. Why are you so selfish you think only about getting high and ignore some of pot's possible dangers to our children? I don't care if you never get off your couch or quite staring at the TV but I care about a child's mental health. Every drug can be abused and society needs to stay aware of that fact.

No one is advocating that children use cannabis! Legal pot would have an age limit, exactly like alcohol.

Legalizing it and allowing the drug to be handled by adults with safety standards would keep the drug off the streets and in places where teenagers have no access. It would also prevent deranged people from mixing harder drugs with pot.

If you want young people away from pot, then you are a friend to the legalization movement.

Exactly, when I was in high school it was easier to find weed than it was to buy alcohol cause alcohol required someone 21 or older. Same effect would happen with legal regulated cannabis, it would become HARDER for minors to get!

    • We're not exactly talking about something so dangerous that it can pop your head like a melon if not handled properly.

Cannabis is safe enough, any minor issues can be dealt with by proper regulation and education.

Cannabis prohibition laws have fueled a black market that kills hundreds if not thousands of people every year (hundreds of thousands maybe?). All while refusing sick and dying people access to a safe and effective medicine as well as a safer recreational substance for those who would choose herb over alcohol.

I say legalize it already... I'd rather puff some herb than soak my liver in toxic liquid. Get my drift?

    • Why do some pot smokers get so upset at the mention that there might be some dangers to be aware of, especially for our kids? They remind me of the gun owners who go bananas if the dangers of gun use is mentioned.

The children have been used as weapons of mass deception during the war on drugs. They have used children, instead of real reasons for cannabis to be illegal.

People who are supporting cannabis hemp are not suggesting children use cannabis. I do not support children and cannabis, but I do support cannabis for adults who choose to use it in the privacy of their own homes.

    • I've been saying this for years.

And its something that is not for everyone.

If you come home, smoke up, and become lazy, don't smoke when you have stuff do to, or not at all.

If not and you can function, smoke away.

    • An example of overuse is when a kid comes home and gets high every night instead of doing his studies. The same would apply to an adult after work.

Children require parenting. If a child comes home and smokes cannabis all night, that's a sign of poor parenting. Those children would require parenting whether it was cannabis, alcohol, or prescription drugs.

Thinkfree, my friend studied for a macroeconomics test right after smoking. He's an average student.

He was the only person in his class to receive a 100 on that test, and he said that being high allowed him to focus and effectively study.

no sweetie, it called education. We can educate the public.
Sex is not illegal but it happens every second of every minute of every day.
EDUCATION is what prevents teen pregnancy, STD's and AIDS.
We "educate" and learn "responsibility" and with that in place, then we know when it's appropriate and when it's not appropriate. It's called common sense. You want to pass your test, you study, you pass, then you PUFFFFFFFF>>>>>!!!! It's all good. Then you eat. LOL

Sweet setup...I am workin with a 9 x 4 closet for veg and a 15 x 15 garage for flower this year, pretty sad for being legal but first crop of clones in years and it's still kinda weird to be within at least local laws but the law has flexible protocol!
