Could an impending federal indictment be the reason behind Sarah Palin’s sudden and unexpected resignation?

    • Exactly, Press Core!

The Republican operatives like Nurse Drizzle make patently false statements (and I quote) like "Anyway the Dem's never step down when caught, Republicans do even if they aren't guilty.Oh, and they apologize, too."

Drizzle says that in the face of Vitter confessing to paying for sex ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdawA7SrK3Q ) and even uses another GOP diversion tactic of asking "BTW what exactly did those guys get caught doing?" as if to infer there was nothing done.

Since Bush and Cheney falsely led us to war with Iraq and Larry "wide stance" Craig never resigned we now have the Christian right wing's "Luv Guv", Republican Mark Sanford, fighting to stay in office after his Appalachian "hike" turned out to be a trip to Argentina.

Press Core, I share your indignation at watching the spin as countless Republican voters are either willing to overlook obvious flaws in their top leaders or are simply too stupid to see them.

As you noted by writing "But it kills me to see people gloss over that as if it doesn't matter that she's characteristically a liar, cheat, and thief.", I am still LMAO as Nurse Drizzle continues to fill the role of GOP operative and do damage control by diverting attention.

Sanford's press conference reminded me of Jimmy Swaggert's tearful confession ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fazff4C4HJ8 ) and I couldn't help but laughing at the Daily Show's "coverage" of another of Nurse Drizzle's GOP leaders. ( http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=231557&title=governor-... )

Every charge that has been flung at Palin has been dis proven.
Vitter most likely will be forced to leave by his party. Bush and Cheney have not been charged with anything so what's your point?
Oh, and BTW there are no secret servicemen in the Oval office with the president.
I am a Libertarian, I want all of the slugs and vermin thrown out of DC including the sleazy republicans.
But thank for thinking I was a Big threat to your feel good, but bash those with common sense group.
I was a flaming liberal; think with my heart person for decades until I actually had something of value to lose. As I paid more attention to the government and the machinations I realized they do best when the people reign them in and make them accountable instead of browbeating and accusing each other of doing what the other does.
A smaller, more personal government would serve us best. We as a people could keep an eye on them and control them better so they actually do what their constituents want of them!

    • I'm too busy laughing to want to break up the verbal ping pong match between you folks. But the point based on fact is being missed here. Palin did not go into politics to selflessly serve the little guy and gal. She went into politics to serve herself, and immediate family as an extension of herself. Big ambitions without big talent to back it up spell big greed. The term embezzelment has been around for a long, long time. So there's no need to feel defensive on the basis of gender or affiliation. Palin has already shown she's unfit to be President, but has persisted in that childhood dream anyway as if it doesn't matter. To Palin public service means the public is destined to serve her as her vehicle to get to the top since she has appointed herself the contested designated driver. That's all the 2012 Presidential Election is to her, a contest to see whether P.T.Barnum was correct in saying "Every minute there's a sucker born, and a carny & shill to take their money, so never give a sucker an even break" Palin makes appeals to emotion which is a scurrilous form of rabble rousing.
She appeals to the ignorant and fearful. And in the last election she had very real scandals stealing from her own party. Considering her ties to a secessionalist party which hates the USA, I'm not surprised. But it kills me to see people gloss over that as if it doesn't matter that she's characteristicly a liar, cheat, and thief. Politics has corrupted and mind controlled many, many people so I guess it's par for the course to see her fly under the radar so often. I hope she does get Indicted if only to present her with the kind of reality contact she can't lie and spin her way out of, or exploit to our detriment.

    • PressCore:

It is truly evident she was not ready to go from govenor to the vice presidency. She needed much grooming first. Should have focused on her job at hand. But I'm sure she was wined and dined to go for the VP position. Bad choice at the time, for sure.
Hopefully she takes time to re-orient herself to being a resident.
I think being a mom and grandmother in tandem, could focus her on what gifts she has at home.
Her situation reminds me of stars that rise to the top quickly and can't handle all the media and invasion into their private lives. Then they crumble in front of the world.

    • Inofuilwell:

There were, also, media cameras with Cheney's group that day, how do you think the news had film on the incident?
When Clinton was PODUS he used to slip away from the SS for his little trysts, so they had to change strategies.

And if it makes you feel good; call me what you may, you obviously have a problem you haven't dealt with yet.
I understand, there's an authority figure you've got a problem with.
We all need to release pent up feelings once in a while. So go for it!

    • Step down? STEP DOWN? LMAO@NurseDrizzle!

You mean like Bush, Cheney, Libby, Vitter, Craig and all the rest of the Republicans who were caught red-handed?

Partisan poppycock. Vitter is still in Congress for doing the same thing Spitzer the Dem did, you oaf.

How many "girls" did they have to get off the ranch and how long did it take them at the Armstrong Ranch on Cheney's "Quail Hunt" before they let the police come in to investigate?

      Whatta "hippo critter" you are!

You ditz, Cheney was the vice president at the time, there were secret service there. Palin was just a Governor, and not well known at the time.
How dare you call me a hypocrite, I've done nor said anything to warrant that.

    • First, how reliable a source is B&B.
Second, if it is true wonder how the situation rolls out. Like the other guy from Alaska? Stevens? Or because she's so outspoken against the socialist/fascist regime taking over our freedoms she'll end up spending time in jail?
It will definitely be bad for her because she's a republican.
Now if she was a democrat, well you know everyone does it so ... we need her in our government to do what she does best. Oh, no that was the Geitner or was that Barbara Boxer no it was ... Anyway the Dem's never step down when caught, Republicans do even if they aren't guilty.Oh, and they apologize, too.
