Ever heard of John Haidt? He is a moral psychologist who took it upon himself to understand the differenced in how liberals and conservatives look at the politics and social sphere. This is a must read for all who want to understand different points a view and why they are legitimate.

    • the yourmorals.org surveys were kinda fun too(from the TED video). i wouldnt say i lean either way, but my results tend to split the difference - so im obligating myself to both. or maybe i think they cancel each other out, and that my brain can reap the rewards. the 'Moral Foundations' is a simple way to start looking into the disparity between varying schools of activism.. at least i think that should be the defining term. it kinda inscribes that the struggles are inherit before any contention. and with activism as an living breathing experience, rather than an atrophied stance(group or otherwise).

with some disclosure, i think of the 2 prominent schools as such : conservatism positions itself as an elite guard for industry, by implicating shifts in loyalty. and liberalism instructs itself by the ethical liability of poverty / to equality. contentions can range between objectivity not trickling down fast enough, and liberties lack of bilateral discipline. and i think we should orphan ourselves either of end of the political spectrum because they require dis-involvement of counterbalance.

    • If you go to TED.com John gives a speech on this topic. Its well worth the twenty minutes to better understand each other and how we all need to come together and fix this world.
