The great conundrum: are elected representatives bound, compelled to do their constituents’, respective party’s, special interest’s bidding? Or are constituents best served by elected representatives who are partisan-neutral, special interests-neutral and parts educator, philosopher and leader?
That is a question I’ve always asked and received not much guidance or assistance in exploring. Most of those willing to help me answer the question are themselves heavily biased and quite partial.
