"President Obama has laid out a clear path that Americans need today. By investing in roads, technology, and school buildings we are putting people back to work on needed construction. How many rough highways have you driven on lately? Our schools are beginning to crumble in small towns and big cities across the country. But for women, equally important is keeping teachers teaching -- particularly the 80% of the teaching profession who are women. The payroll tax extension would put more money in the pockets of seventy-seven million women – money they can spend with their families, in their communities, on things they need. The President’s plan will cut the payroll taxes in half for 900,000 women-owned small businesses – and make it easier for more women to start their own businesses. That’s the kind of policy I like to see for women."
