The Republicans in the U.S. Senate have set a new record for filibusters, more than 270 various pieces of legislation have been blocked using the filibuster since President Obama took office.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said, "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” Their number one goal was not the improvement of our economy, jobs or our national security.

So today in the U.S. Senate, expect the Republicans to continue down that road as they unite to block another bill that would help women, their families, the U.S. economy and our national security.

The Republicans will once again put their Party before its citizens and their own jobs before our country. With politicians like them, who needs enemies?

If you want to know why our economy is still moving slowly, you need not look any further then the obstruction by the Republican Party in the U.S. Senate since President Obama took office.
