The shape of things to come?

Farmers in Athens have been giving away free fruit and vegetables at a mock market outside the Agriculture Ministry in protest at high rates of fuel tax and VAT costs.

Fifty tons of produce were handed out to crisis-hit Greeks consumers in just a few hours.

    • Nice move. The produce looks great!
When taxes on fuel become so onerous farmers have to give away their crops one would imagine it's time to rethink the system.
The Chicago School argues that austerity is great for the masses. Funny how you just don't see it practiced at any other level--the one where all the resources have coagulated.
