    • very very powerful.

by the way, catherine, i was wondering what your take is on giving money to homeless people?

i personally have done service and am friends with quite a few homeless people and the majority of them have said that the majority of people who begged for money were on drugs. generally, they said, the average homeless individual feels so ashamed begging that the only ones who beg are that desperte for drugs... do you believe this? what's your or others take on this? i want to help...but i don't want to feed a habit.

    • This is interesting to me. Because that was my real life. I lived it eveyday for about 4 years. Since then we'ved moved out of that rut. I thank God for keeping us in his hands. Because of our illness of mental illness we would of done something to regret the rest of our lives so, I have continued with going to church and Bible Studies. Also, we have a 2 bedroom apartment. My prayers were answered and continue to be. I have an income and low housing and GOD in my life and that means more than any high can ever give me. I want to thank all the responses to Catherine she is so Awesome for everything she puts her hands on. I just want to Thank You again Catherine for such a great job. You are so Great. Love Always Jack & Suzie

    • I admire how you slept in a car next to Jack and Suzie to try to get closer to the story. Watching them donate money to another homeless man, even though they barely have dime, will make me think twice next time I''m donating to charity.

    • Wow, that nearly broke my heart. Thanks for the first hand view of how a couple can support each other regardless of the circumstances.

    • great story, sad to see people living in their car, but nice to see that they still found a little bit of happiness and havent lost hope for better times

    • Er... No. It's a different perspective on homeless life, and it seems pretty clear to me that the filmmaker is genuinely fond of the subjects.

Ultimately, I think if Jack and Suzie felt they were being exploited, they're capable of walking away from the project. As it is, I'm thankful that they let someone with a camera get such an intimate access to their lives.

    • This is a really depressing video and I know Catherine had the best intentions at heart, don't you think it feels kind of exploitative?
