Table two in this : http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/nibrs/nibrss.pdf says no.
And while this breaks it down only by race of the offender, this gives some more insight: http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2006/offenses/expanded_information/data/shrtable_03.h...
Where this table shows that most victims know their killer, even if a basic involvment: http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2006/offenses/expanded_information/data/shrtable_09.h...
taking away the idea that the stranger on the street is far less likely to kill you than someone you know. This idea that 'white folks oughtta cross the street when they see black folk comin up" is bullshit and people need to stop spreading the lie. It starts with you - look at the links and see... - 3 years ago

You will probably find more people have died of disease, like the Black Plague, then Religion.

More people have been killed in the name of Jesus Christ than in any other name. Second would be killings in the name of Allah.

Serial killing is not limited to the U.S.of A.
But those list would be considered Mass Genocidal maniacs. Not serial killers.

Not to make the discussion racial or anything, but isnt it funny that so many people are scared of the ''Big Ole Scary Black Guy'' when most of the serial killers, are white young males?

I think y'all are confusing mass murderers and spree killers with serial killers. To qualify as a serial killer, you must kill no less than four people over a period of time no less than one month in duration, according to FBI definitions. Imho, serial killers are far more interesting to me, considering the acts of concealment, stalking, evading the law, etc etc.

There is a show on the Investigation Discovery Channel. Called "Most Evil". A professor, Dr. Stone has come up with a list. A way to sort out the least to the most dangerous criminals. Check out this link to the webpage for the show. It shows all 22 levels of his list of various killers. Its very interesting.

That show is awesome. It really shows what sparks a serial killers intentions and goes into the mind of them and how they would think. Its cool that they compare the crimes and acts they commit to their mental state.
Also how he emphasizes the differences between male and female killers.

Ponerology - the science and study of evil, of psychopathy. An excellent site in which one can gain much insight in how such criminals think, what makes them tick, etc.

Serial killers are motivated for killing can be the reason of their psychological gratification. Most of the serial killers suffer from some form of Antisocial Personality Disorder thus may appear to be quite normal and often even charming. They represent a dual failure of their own development as productive individuals and of the culture and society they grow in.

just goes to show you cant trust hardly anyone. they could be your closest friend plotting on you, or even a relative. most of the time it turns out the good guy is the evil one....i.e. preachers, mayors, the family man, teachers, the working 9-5 chick.... we need us some more vigilantes to clear up these demon faces.

That's right. Statistically, serial killers are, like rapists and pedophiles, your neighbor, your grandfather, your father, your best friend, your cousin, your teacher, your religious leader, your gym coach, etc. They're almost never "the creepy guy"....

Spotting them in a crowd is not possible, as they look like normal people; in fact most of them are soft-spoken and polite. Their monstrousness comes through only in their personalities, actions and habits.
