Carol Speaks Out

flikchik
When Carol's brother, Father Norman Christian was on his death bed, she refused to visit him unless he admitted his crimes and made a public apology to all his victims. In an effort to allow those victims some kind of closure, Carol contacted the St. Louis Chapter of S.N.A.P. (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) hoping they, in turn, would get word to anyone in the support group who had been assaulted by Norman. One man, Tim Fischer, who at the age of eleven had been raped by Father Christian, was now, in his mid forties, able to get a message to him. Norman, however remained unrepentant. Carol never saw her brother again. After his death, Norman was buried as a priest in good standing with his funeral ceremony being presided over by Archbishop Raymond Burke. On February 3, 2005, Carol and Tim held a press conference in front of the Chancery in St. Louis, demanding apology letters from the Archbishop for the mishandling of accusations against Fr. Christian over the course of his career as a priest. Since then, several more of Fr. Christian's victims have come forward. Carol has written a book chronicling her experience with Norman and the Archdiocese of St. Louis as well as her recent involvement with S.N.A.P.
