Although I usually always agree with Delia I don't really think there's any real hope of us having meaningful discussions about religions.

Believers believe unbelievable things because they are told to. You either buy into it, or you don't. And most believers don't want to ever discuss the more controversial topics in their religions anyway.

Muslim's don't eat pigs only because it's beleived to be dirty. They consider the pig to be unclean since it bathes in mud and excrement, therefore the pork from the pig is dirty. It's more of a taboo than an actual law however, i have a couple islamic friends who have eaten pork, mainly pepperoni on pizza, but they just choose mainly not to. Kinda how like catholics have to eat fish every sunday, not every catholic does it, even though their bible says too....
