A new two volume set of American Speculative Fiction will be released from The Library of America. They've been putting out comprehensive volumes for speculative fiction lately such as the volumes for H.P. Lovecraft [http://www.loa.org/volume.jsp?RequestID=223] and Philip K. Dick [http://www.loa.org/volume.jsp?RequestID=311]. (I'm crossing my fingers that they will do a volume or two for Octavia E. Butler and, IMHO, the perfect editor would be Tananarive Due. Just saying...) Now they will put out this lovely collection! It will beautifully bound as the rest of the volumes in the LOA set. This cements into stone how important speculative genre is to the American literary canon. It will include work from Edgar Allan Poe to Kelly Link. Available Oct 2009 [http://www.loa.org/volume.jsp?RequestID=310]
