Speaking in Tamil, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the politicians should not lead the masses in the wrong direction. Dividing politics is not necessary now. All races should get together and work towards development.
Addressing the nation at the 62nd independence day celebrations in Kandy, President Rajapaksa said that he had always put country first when he took decisions, from waging war against separatists to obtaining foreign aid or loans to maintaining cordial relations with foreign countries.
