Your spot is alright, but #1?!? And its only been up for a day? Strange.
Good idea but the TV dinner was campy. You should hold your product shot for longer as well. I couldn't read the end tag.

Sorry to hear about the upload drama...
this piece has a nice concept, but i think it needs more attention to cinematography and sound.
there are some pieces that can make use of the lo-fi aesthetic because they are supposed to look like security camera footage, or just like casual home video footage. But I think you could sell this good idea much better with stronger production value.
let me know if you want any specifics.

Thanks for your input. I would like to get to the status of production value someday. Is there anything I could have done better with this Ad? I am thinking about getting a Sony HDR-FX7 with a shotgun mike. Do you think that could help me get production value?

it's tough to say what exactly that "production value" means since every piece should have a look appropriate for it's message.
After I took a look again, it seemed like you were going for the "research footage" aesthetic. Just plain old video. But there were some shots in there that would not have happened in simple research footage. Shots where the subject would have seen the camera, but didn't. in this case it might have been better to just follow that look all the way through and only do shots that would actually occur in surveillance footage.
But more generally, a better camera would help some, but also pay more attention to composition, tonal range and color. A good place to start is to get some photos together of what you want the piece to look like and then go about making it look like that. If you don't know how, find someone who can and give them direction - you don't have to do it all yourself.
as far as sound, I'm no audio whiz but i just try to get my mic as close as possible to the subject, either with wireless lav or a shotgun on a boom. you can mix in other sounds later and then you will have more control over what is emphasized. Although, the growls did work well in this one.

You can register on current with fake email addresses. That's how a lot of people are voting and posting comments on their own videos praising themselves. Pretty sad.

Nah... ya got it all wrong. I uploaded this VCam in early March and Current Lost the video. They told me to reupload it with a special tag. When they put it on the site they must have accidently put my VCam as #1 instead of # 185.

How is it possible that after 1 day you already top the chart? I'm confused, this remembers me Italy's competitions.................

I was wondering about that myself. I noticed many vids with way more comments and views are way down and many without anything are on the front page.
