He helped out with Billy Joel's final "Last Play at Shea" concert, and now, just about a year later, Paul McCartney is planning a triple play at Citi Field.
The former Beatle's first two shows at the new Mets stadium - July 17 and 18 - sold out in five minutes Monday. Due to overwhelming demand, a third show, set for July 21, was announced. Tickets, if any remain available, were being sold through 507TIXX.com.
The shows will feature hits from McCartney's massive catalog, including material from The Beatles, who rung in the era of stadium rock at Shea back in 1965; Wings; and the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's solo career.
Selections from the recent album, "Electric Arguments," which was released under the alias The Fireman, will also be worked into the sets. How hot is that?-- Kevin Amorim
