Sure, "Ray" was OK...and I have to admit, the more I watch "Miami Vice" the more I love it, but "Collateral" is the most gripping, dark and interesting film he's ever done.
Jamie and the Tom Cruise character play off each other brilliantly and the story fits perfectly into Micahel Mann' s ambiant LA backdrop. Brilliant is all I can say.
