The bankruptcy of the United States is now certain

It's one of those numbers that's so unbelievable you have to actually think about it for a while... Within the next 12 months, the U.S. Treasury will have to refinance $2 trillion in short-term debt. And that's not counting any additional deficit spending, which is estimated to be around $1.5 trillion. Put the two numbers together. Then ask yourself, how in the world can the Treasury borrow $3.5 trillion in only one year? That's an amount equal to nearly 30% of our entire GDP. And we're the world's biggest economy. Where will the money come from?

How did we end up with so much short-term debt? Like most entities that have far too much debt - whether subprime borrowers, GM, Fannie, or GE - the U.S. Treasury has tried to minimize its interest burden by borrowing for short durations and then "rolling over" the loans when they come due. As they say on Wall Street, "a rolling debt collects no moss." What they mean is, as long as you can extend the debt, you have no problem. Unfortunately, that leads folks to take on ever greater amounts of debt… at ever shorter durations… at ever lower interest rates. Sooner or later, the creditors wake up and ask themselves: What are the chances I will ever actually be repaid? And that's when the trouble starts. Interest rates go up dramatically. Funding costs soar. The party is over. Bankruptcy is next.

When governments go bankrupt it's called "a default." Currency speculators figured out how to accurately predict when a country would default. Two well-known economists - Alan Greenspan and Pablo Guidotti - published the secret formula in a 1999 academic paper. That's why the formula is called the Greenspan-Guidotti rule. The rule states: To avoid a default, countries should maintain hard currency reserves equal to at least 100% of their short-term foreign debt maturities. The world's largest money management firm, PIMCO, explains the rule this way: "The minimum benchmark of reserves equal to at least 100% of short-term external debt is known as the Greenspan-Guidotti rule. Greenspan-Guidotti is perhaps the single concept of reserve adequacy that has the most adherents and empirical support."

The principle behind the rule is simple. If you can't pay off all of your foreign debts in the next 12 months, you're a terrible credit risk. Speculators are going to target your bonds and your currency, making it impossible to refinance your debts. A default is assured.

So how does America rank on the Greenspan-Guidotti scale? It's a guaranteed default. The U.S. holds gold, oil, and foreign currency in reserve. The U.S. has 8,133.5 metric tonnes of gold (it is the world's largest holder). That's 16,267,000 pounds. At current dollar values, it's worth around $300 billion. The U.S. strategic petroleum reserve shows a current total position of 725 million barrels. At current dollar prices, that's roughly $58 billion worth of oil. And according to the IMF, the U.S. has $136 billion in foreign currency reserves. So altogether... that's around $500 billion of reserves. Our short-term foreign debts are far bigger.

According to the U.S. Treasury, $2 trillion worth of debt will mature in the next 12 months. So looking only at short-term debt, we know the Treasury will have to finance at least $2 trillion worth of maturing debt in the next 12 months. That might not cause a crisis if we were still funding our national debt internally. But since 1985, we've been a net debtor to the world. Today, foreigners own 44% of all our debts, which means we owe foreign creditors at least $880 billion in the next 12 months - an amount far larger than our reserves.

Keep in mind, this only covers our existing debts. The Office of Management and Budget is predicting a $1.5 trillion budget deficit over the next year. That puts our total funding requirements on the order of $3.5 trillion over the next 12 months.

So… where will the money come from? Total domestic savings in the U.S. are only around $600 billion annually. Even if we all put every penny of our savings into U.S. Treasury debt, we're still going to come up nearly $3 trillion short. That's an annual funding requirement equal to roughly 40% of GDP. Where is the money going to come from? From our foreign creditors? Not according to Greenspan-Guidotti. And not according to the Indian or the Russian central bank, which have stopped buying Treasury bills and begun to buy enormous amounts of gold. The Indians bought 200 metric tonnes this month. Sources in Russia say the central bank there will double its gold reserves.

So where will the money come from? The printing press. The Federal Reserve has already monetized nearly $2 trillion worth of Treasury debt and mortgage debt. This weakens the value of the dollar and devalues our existing Treasury bonds. Sooner or later, our creditors will face a stark choice: Hold our bonds and continue to see the value diminish slowly, or try to escape to gold and see the value of their U.S. bonds plummet.

One thing they're not going to do is buy more of our debt. Which central banks will abandon the dollar next? Brazil, Korea, and Chile. These are the three largest central banks that own the least amount of gold. None own even 1% of their total reserves in gold.

Safe School Czar’ Ignored Statutory Rape

A teacher was told by a 15-year-old high school sophomore that he was having homosexual sex with an "older man." At the very least, statutory rape occurred. Fox News reported that the teacher violated a state law requiring that he report the abuse. That former teacher, Kevin Jennings, is President Obama’s "safe school czar."

It’s getting hard to keep track of all of this president’s problematic appointments. Clearly, the process for vetting White House employees has broken down.

In this one case in which Mr. Jennings had a real chance to protect a young boy from a sexual predator, he not only failed to do what the law required but actually encouraged the relationship.

According to Mr. Jennings’ own description in a new audiotape discovered by Fox News, the 15-year-old boy met the "older man" in a "bus station bathroom" and was taken to the older man’s home that night. When some details about the case became public, Mr. Jennings threatened to sue another teacher who called his failure to report the statutory rape "unethical." Mr. Jennings’ defenders asserted that there was no evidence that he was aware the student had sex with the older man.

However, the new audiotape contradicts this claim. In 2000, Mr. Jennings gave a talk to the Iowa chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, an advocacy group that promotes homosexuality in schools. On the tape, Mr. Jennings recollected that he told the student to make sure "to use a condom" when he was with the older man. That he actively encouraged the relationship is reinforced by Mr. Jennings’ own description in his 1994 book, "One Teacher in 10." In that account, the teacher boasts how he allayed the student’s concerns about the relationship to such a degree that the 15-year-old "left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on the campus for the next two years, until he graduated."

Mr. Jennings’ denials about these events reveal a lack of remorse. He has not admitted that he made mistakes in this case, and he now refuses to answer any questions about the scandal. Don’t forget, this is a presidential appointee we’re talking about. Mr. Obama should make clear what his standards are for public servants serving at the pleasure of the president. Encouraging and covering up man-boy sexual activity are serious offenses. The White House should force Mr. Jennings to come clean.

Mr. Jennings has made extremely radical statements promoting homosexuality in schools and about his utter contempt for religion that render him unsuitable for a prestigious White House appointment. His job in the Obama administration is to ensure student safety, and this scandal directly calls into question his ability to perform that job. Mr. Jennings and Obama administration officials refuse to answer any questions about this newly discovered evidence. A lot of Americans want answers about this guy and how he was approved for a job in the White House.

Of course the real scandal here is that Mr. Jennings was ever appointed Mr. Obama’s ‘Safe School Czar’ in the first place.

All the Trains Run Through Obama

This week Obama began throwing around his weight around more than usual. In the USSR all the trains ran through Moscow in order to centralize control of the country. In the US today, Obama is pushing to make sure that all the trains run through him.

First Obama’s minions began pushing the rest of the media to denounce and distance themselves from FOX. This of course is only the latest in the Obama Administration’s long addiction to public Stalinist purges and denunciations, but this time it was launched against an entire network.

And second the Obama Administration now appears to be targeting state Democrats who don’t “coordinate” with the White House. The Washington Post spins it as the White House distancing itself from a supposedly losing candidate in the Virginia Governor’s race, but the practical upshot of it is that it’s a warning shot that blames losing candidates for not relying enough on Obama, sending the message that the failure to “coordinate” your campaign with the White House will be a death blow to your candidacy.

Senior administration officials have expressed frustration with how Democrat R. Creigh Deeds has handled his campaign for governor, refusing early offers of strategic advice and failing to reach out to several key constituencies that helped Obama win Virginia in 2008, they say.

Translation, he failed to pay off ACORN, SEIU and whatever other munchkins and 527’s the Obama Administration has its deals with.

Of course the next step is to suggest that Deeds is kind of a racist, or forced to be a racist because everyone in Virginia is a racist.

A senior administration official said Deeds badly erred on several fronts, including not doing a better job of coordinating with the White House. “I understood in the beginning why there was some reluctance to run all around the state with Barack Obama,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in order to speak candidly about the race. “You don’t do that in Virginia. But when you consider the African American turnout that they need, and then when you consider as well they’ve got a huge problem with surge voters, younger voters, we were just a natural for them.”

Of course that fails to explain why if race is the issue, Obama won in Virginia.

But a more pertinent point is that Obama’s approval rating fell well below 50 percent in Virginia, which might actually make him a liability, for political, not racial reasons. And just maybe Deeds wasn’t willing to turn over his campaign to Obama’s cluster of radical left wing groups and unions, and mortgage the next four years, just to have Obama come to town for a day or two, and take some pictures.

But national Democrats are contrasting Deeds with New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine and New York congressional candidate Bill Owens, who they say have more actively sought the White House’s help and more vigorously and publicly backed its agenda. Polls show Corzine in a competitive position in New Jersey and Owens ahead, while Deeds has turned aggressively to Obama voters in recent days in an effort to overcome a significant deficit in the polls.This week Obama began throwing around his weight around more than usual. This Isn’t Change, It’s Treason

There used to be a time in this country, not that long ago, when, despite our religious, cultural and societal differences, there were at least a few basic tenets upon which we, as Americans, could all agree. We could locate our borders, we spoke a common language and shared a common understanding of our Founders and constitutionalism.

There was no confusion over what constituted acts of heroism and patriotism. Conversely, we also understood and clearly recognized, evil, greed, treason and hypocrisy.

But, alas, the beloved country that was so united in my youth has become a cesspool of unabated and accelerating filth, selfishness, decadence and immorality. The scoundrels that supposedly represent us don’t even have the decency to tell us the truth, read the laws they use to enslave us or listen to our objections.

Some, including myself, have described what Obama and his Socialists are up to as a bloodless coup. But, after further evaluation of what’s really going on behind the scenes in Washington, I have come to an even more alarming conclusion: What they are doing is committing legislative jihad.

Socialists have declared jihad on our economic prosperity
The stinkulus was a failure: The jobs it did create came at astronomical cost or simply grew the bureaucracy. Government now controls major players in several sectors of the economy with no signs of easing that control. Government spending now comprises alarming percentages of our Gross Domestic Product. We’ve ran out of money, we’ve essentially accumulated over 100 trillion dollars in unfunded future entitlements, foreclosures have accelerated and we continue to bleed jobs. Add to the mix, health care, one sixth of the entire US economy, and it doesn’t take an economist to see where Democrats are taking us.

They have printed or borrowed their way into such a deep hole, and have devalued our currency to such an extent, that other countries are now worried about our economic sustainability and have quietly called for oil to be traded in other currencies. Obama’s redistributionist policies increase the danger. The more dollars we simply pump into circulation out of thin air to give to the less fortunate in the form of subsidies, $250.00 stimulus checks, credits for homes, vehicles or appliances, the further our purchasing power erodes. And, the further they drive us into insolvency, the louder they carp for additional spending. If Barack Obama doesn’t stop spending, the dollars in your wallets, purses and bank accounts will be worth less than the ink used to print them.

Barack Obama still fights the release of any personal information, despite increasing questions over a possible foreign birth and his media lackeys continue to bury the controversy and scrub references to it from websites. The TARP program was unconstitutional, as was directing TARP funds to auto companies, allowing both Congress and their union lapdogs to bail out their pension funds, while the Supreme Court took a nap. I also question the constitutionality of compulsory health care. Wall Street's Naked Swindle

A scheme to flood the market with counterfeit stocks helped kill Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers — and the feds have yet to bust the culprits.....

On Tuesday, March 11th, 2008, somebody — nobody knows who — made one of the craziest bets Wall Street has ever seen. The mystery figure spent $1.7 million on a series of options, gambling that shares in the venerable investment bank Bear Stearns would lose more than half their value in nine days or less. It was madness — "like buying 1.7 million lottery tickets," according to one financial analyst.

But what's even crazier is that the bet paid.

At the close of business that afternoon, Bear Stearns was trading at $62.97. At that point, whoever made the gamble owned the right to sell huge bundles of Bear stock, at $30 and $25, on or before March 20th. In order for the bet to pay, Bear would have to fall harder and faster than any Wall Street brokerage in history.

The very next day, March 12th, Bear went into free fall. By the end of the week, the firm had lost virtually all of its cash and was clinging to promises of state aid; by the weekend, it was being knocked to its knees by the Fed and the Treasury, and forced at the barrel of a shotgun to sell itself to JPMorgan Chase (which had been given $29 billion in public money to marry its hunchbacked new bride) at the humiliating price of … $2 a share. Whoever bought those options on March 11th woke up on the morning of March 17th having made 159 times his money, or roughly $270 million. This trader was either the luckiest guy in the world, the smartest son of a bitch ever or…

Or what? That this was a brazen case of insider manipulation was so obvious that even Sen. Chris Dodd, chairman of the pillow-soft-touch Senate Banking Committee, couldn't help but remark on it a few weeks later, when questioning Christopher Cox, the then-chief of the Securities and Exchange Commission. "I would hope that you're looking at this," Dodd said. "This kind of spike must have triggered some sort of bells and whistles at the SEC. This goes beyond rumors."

Cox nodded sternly and promised, yes, he would look into it. What actually happened is another matter. Although the SEC issued more than 50 subpoenas to Wall Street firms, it has yet to identify the mysterious trader who somehow seemed to know in advance that one of the five largest investment banks in America was going to completely tank in a matter of days. "I've seen the SEC send agents overseas in a simple insider-trading case to investigate profits of maybe $2,000," says Brent Baker, a former senior counsel for the commission. "But they did nothing to stop this."

The SEC's halfhearted oversight didn't go unnoticed by the market. Six months after Bear was eaten by predators, virtually the same scenario repeated itself in the case of Lehman Brothers — another top-five investment bank that in September 2008 was vaporized in an obvious case of market manipulation. From there, the financial crisis was on, and the global economy went into full-blown crater mode.

Like all the great merchants of the bubble economy, Bear and Lehman were leveraged to the hilt and vulnerable to collapse. Many of the methods that outsiders used to knock them over were mostly legal: Credit markers were pulled, rumors were spread through the media, and legitimate short-sellers pressured the stock price down. Dictator Obama and Reaching the Point of No Return

As very few of our Congressional elected officials—Democrats AND Republicans—are taking any actions or exhibiting any desire to stop the Obama Dictatorship and We-the-People are now being completely left out of any and all legislation that directly affects us, I can only surmise that we as the Nation of the United states of America may have reached the point of no return in our rapidly forced descent into totalitarianism.

From the anti-American and anti-human recently-passed Congressional bills, I have also concluded that—as these self-same elected officials no longer care what their constituents think—our attempts to stop the insanity of government officials summarily stripping us of our own money and our Constitutionally guaranteed liberties via peaceful means may have now come to an end. They haven’t worked. In actuality, even our September 1.7 millions-person-march on Washington D.C. in opposition to ObamaCare and Cap and Tax barely elicited yawns from both the Executive and Legislative branches of government—the ones the American people elected to office in the first place. Instead, delivering yet another slap to the faces of the American people, Obama skipped town that day to be fawned over by a hand-picked crowd of his supporters in Minnesota.

How did this dismantling occur? The beginnings of the Progressive/Communist/Marxist movement began in the US—in earnest—under Democrat President Woodrow Wilson and was expanded in the 1920s by ACLU founder Roger Nash Baldwin. There are many books and articles written about Baldwin—I’ve written a few also—so if you wish to research his or Wilson’s progressive and pro-communist backgrounds, I encourage you to do so. In this column, however, I will concentrate on more recent events leading to our demise.

The Beginnings of Recent Leftist Democrat Destructions
Established in 1977 under then leftist President Jimmy Carter, the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) was enacted to force banking institutions to provide loans to low income people—many of whom could not or simply did not pay the loans back. As well as being used as a liberal/leftist slush fund, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were utilized to finance the mortgages of low-income individuals who could not qualify to purchase a home under traditional 30-year fixed financing. So, ARMs (adjustable rate mortgages) were given to the unqualified buyer. Beginning with extremely low mortgage payments, the unqualified-under-any-sane-circumstances buyer “bought” his or her home. The problem—just as if it had been planned—came when the mortgage rates increased, balloon payments came due and the ARM buyers paycheck didn’t increase at the same rate as his mortgage payments did. Obama’s Newest Racemongering Judge: California’s Edward Chen

President Obama has gone out of his way to “diversify” the federal bench with his spate of nominations of various minorities chief of which was his successful seating of the “wise Latina,’ Sonia Sotomayor, on the Supreme Court. Obama’s nominees* for 10 district court openings include four African-Americans, three Asian-Americans, one Latino and four women. One of those nominees, San Francisco U.S. Magistrate Judge Edward Chen, received a favorable vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington today.

So what sort of judge is Edward Chen? Well, for one, the left-wing American Bar Association rated Chen a “well qualified” nominee and many of his associates at the ACLU speak highly of him. As an ACLU lawyer, Chen was known for opposing English-only policies and for pushing discriminatory affirmative action ideals. He even came to the aid of gang members in one case. Chen was quite the ACLU activist between 1979 and 2001.

His ACLU history would suffice to make many wary of him, of course. But for a segment of America, working for the ACLU is not a disqualifier. So in order to judge Edward Chen one must look at his past. Discovering what Judge Chen thinks of the country upon which he apparently assumes to sit in judgment is a telling exercise. Sadly, it seems he has quite a low opinion of the nation that he will be serving.

One hint at Judge Chen’s feelings about our nation can be seen from his appearance at the 2005 graduation ceremony at the Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation. There, Chen wondered aloud if American patriotism was justified. Chen told the crowd of his, “feelings of ambivalence and cynicism when confronted with appeals to patriotism — sometimes I cannot help but feel that there are too much [sic] injustice and too many inequalities that prevent far too many Americans from enjoying the beauty extolled in that anthem.” Apparently, Chen feels that America is too racist to justify anyone feeling patriotism for her.

In fact, racism seems to be one of Chen’s major concerns and he sees it everywhere. Immediately after the attacks on 9, 11, 2001 Chen’s first thoughts were about racism but not that of the Arabs that sent over three thousand Americans to their deaths. No, as soon as Chen learned of the attacks of 9/11 Chen’s first worry was that white Americans were going to use their racism to justify racist attacks on Muslims and anyone else that got in their way.

Racism and Chen’s overactive imagination
Only ten days after 9/11 occurred, Chen remarked that he imagined that America would revert to the “irresistible forces of racism, nativism and scapegoating” of the past and begin systematic oppression of American Muslims. Later he likened America’s post 9/11 military and security policies to the climate that led up to Japanese interment during WWII. In fact, he seemed to imagine that “a thousand Americans” were being swept up and held in secret prisons right after 9/11.

In a speech given at the Operation Protect and Defend dinner on May 4, 2006, Judge Chen referred to “secret surveillance of Americans without a judicial warrant, secret no fly lists, [and] secret detention of nearly a thousand American residents held without charges.” Naturally, he offered no proof of this wholesale but secret detention of Americans.President Obama has gone out of his way to “diversify” the federal bench with his spate of nominations of various... more

Obama’s Pedophilia Czar

I’ve written before that the White House’s communications staff was charting out a new, urging a more aggressive strategy to push back hard against news stories that are either inaccurate (read embarrassingly accurate) or unflattering toward Obama or his policies.

On Sunday, this strategy was revealed in force as communications director Anita Dunn gave a lengthy and brutal denunciation of Fox News, calling the cable outlet “a vehicle for Republican Party propaganda and an ideological opponent of the president.”

“The reality of it is that Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party. And it is not ideological… what I think is fair to say about Fox, and the way we view it, is that it is more of a wing of the Republican Party.”

This is the only time in our recent history that the White House has directly complained about news coverage by naming an entire news organization. Of course Fox is the only network that did not participate in the last election as if it was one of Obama’s campaign outlets. Dunn went on to complain that Fox could not be a real news organization because of the fact that it did not blindly support Obama.

Fox is the real news, fair and balanced and progressive
“[Fox is] widely viewed as a part of the Republican Party: take their talking points and put them on the air, take their opposition research and put it on the air. And that’s fine. But let’s not pretend they’re a news organization like CNN is.”

Yes, CNN is so prominently known as the fair and balanced network. If I recall correctly, and I usually do, CNN was front and center in the now proven to be fabricated Dan Rather Made-up news case involving GW Bush. They were one of the first to come to Uncle Dan’s defense. They were also right there in the pack when it came to attempting to pillory Sarah Palin with regard to her daughter’s pregnancy and Palin’s own disabled child. They were again proven wrong, but no, CNN is a far more newsworthy organization than Fox. Riiight, and Mao was so much like Mother Teresa. Anita Dunn would not be able to recognize the difference between a comma splice and a run-on sentence and she claims to know what is real reporting? Give me a blessed break!

This is the real reason Dunn and her White House cohorts are so upset. Fox was the only network to break the story that Obama’s Whitehouse supports and condones pedophilia. Kevin Jennings’ record was well known to Obama when he appointed this pervert to a position overseeing our nation’s schoolchildren. He knew this piece of decaying immorality considered NAMBLA to be a wonderful organization and had praised that group’s leader as one of his favorite people.

Where was CNN on this? Nowhere, as is to be expected. Here we have the President of our country through one of his Czars telling our schoolchildren to not only to expect to be molested but that they should enjoy the experience. You will never see a single story in any of the mainstream alphabet news organizations that could be considered detrimental to Obama’s political career, especially not one this damaging. You have noticed that this story has no legs whatsoever? If this had happened under a Republican administration it would be page one in every news outlet there is and it would run for weeks with Congress calling for not only impeachment but jail time.

No, the mainstream media will not allow any embarrassing news coverage of Obama or his policies to exist outside of Fox. He is their boy and they have plans for him, just as they have plans for us…and our children.

Fox just reports the news and if Obama’s screwups continue then they will be reported upon, fairly and perfectly well balanced. That is what upsets so many liberals. Obama’s “Status Quo” has become the Status Quo

In his weekly radio address this week, the Obama child again accused health insurance companies of “dishonest and misleading advertising” because they disagree with his policies on healthcare and presented a study to dispute them. Obama angrily and emphatically insisted “We have only just begun” (to cram socialized healthcare down American throats).

In fact it is Obama who has engaged in “dishonest and misleading advertising” from the beginning of his administration. Most everything he has told the American people has been a lie or based on a false pretense.

Did you know that profits from those “greedy” health insurance companies, paid to the stockholders, amount to only about 3.2%? This is considerably lower (about half to one third) than the average of other industries. The rest of the money goes to pay their enormous costs - reasonable solutions to which Obama and congress refuse to consider.

In Obama’s view, any profit from our capitalist system is evil and must be stamped out by the government and replaced with a socialist system. Obama has consistently lied about his intentions and motives, and tried to hide his true agenda which is not supportive of the American way of life or the country as a whole. He has traveled the globe smearing our country and apologizing for its behavior and heritage.

He is not working for the American people, but rather for the global socialists and communist cabals who want to rule the world with a “one world government” at the expense of America and the American people. Mr. “Citizen of the World” now has his big chance for “change.”

The question every American now needs to ask themselves is this: Do you want to be a citizen of the world, or a citizen of America? I, for one, do not want to surrender my American freedom and citizenship, and our national sovereignty, to become a subject of global socialism under the dictates of the United Nations or any other third world dictatorship. Yet this is the choice we now face.

Obama consistently uses the phrase “status quo” to reference anything he disagrees with. He has used it regularly to describe Republicans in congress. He used it to describe the free market on Wall Street. He used it to describe the auto industry. Currently, the “status quo” now means private insurance providers. “Status quo” is the Obama code word for the American private sector free market that he wants to destroy.

There is no question that Obama is way over-exposed with all of his relentless TV appearances, campaigning, speeches, and events. Clearly, this is not in the presidential job description. The president is supposed to attend to executive duties and has a press secretary, “Baghdad Bob” Gibbs, to be his spokesman. Obama just cannot stop abusing the office of POTUS and let go of the campaign trail with all of its glitter and cameras, but it does have its bright side.

Obama’s Deal Moving Gitmo Terrorists to U.S. Passes House Vote

Sacramento , CA – The nation’s largest grassroots, pro-troop organization condemned the action by the House of Representatives voting to clear the way for President Barack Obama’s plan to transfer prisoners from Guantanamo Bay to the United States.

“We will not stand by as the Congress and President Obama weaken our defenses against our radical Islamic enemies. Bringing these terrorists to the United States will only enable them to bring more mischief to our shores,” said Shawn Callahan, Executive Director of Move America Forward.

Move America Forward, which visited Guantanamo Bay last December, has been outspoken and fervent to keep Gitmo open and the terrorists off of U.S. soil. Despite Americans overwhelming opposition to the closure of Gitmo and the transfer of terrorists to America, the House of Representatives voted to remove a legal impediment to bringing the terrorists to the U.S.

“The worst thing,” Callahan said, “was the complete arrogance of members of Congress in flaunting the will of the people. It is no wonder the public has such a low opinion of Congress.”

Callahan cited examples of Members of Congress who voted to make it easier for terrorist transfers to United States prisons:

“I haven’t had one person ask me about Guantanamo,” said Rep. Baron Hill, D-Ind. He added that he does “not in the least” fear it as an issue in next year’s elections.

“It’s a nonissue. Inside the (Washington) Beltway stuff,” said first-term Rep. Dan Maffei, D-N.Y.

“Our military heroes gave their lives to keep the terrorists from coming to America,” Callahan said. “Now the U.S. Congress votes to bring terrorists here? This is scandalous.”

The Democrats attached the prisoner transfer to a $42.8 billion homeland security appropriations bill. The vote on Thursday was 224-193. President Obama made a campaign promise to close Gitmo as a way to appease his European and Muslim allies. He has found that closing Gitmo is much more difficult than simply making a promise because the terrorists held at the prison are hardcore Jihadists determined to kill Americans.
