Kohl's also secured five more former Mervyn's locations shortly after to bump the total up to 36. This fall, Kohl's will fill 30 former Mervyn's locations across California. In total, Kohl's is bringing roughly 4,200 jobs to a state with an 11.6 percent unemployment rate. [Not to confused with Merced's local unemployment rate of 16.6%]
