US Politics Group-Town Hall #1

Hello all, this is the first "town hall" of the US Politics Group. These "town halls" will focus on updates to the group page, community guidelines, appointment of moderators, and yes, a weekly update.

In this weeks town hall we will be discussing two issues

1. The groups launch and operations.
2. The prospect of a weekly update.

Now lets being!

Obviously the US Politics page has been around for a long time, however it has only existed as a group for for less than a week. This shift from channel to group will change the way the page operates...

I. Only members of the group can clip stories to the group page. If you are not a member of the group, feel free to join (you can do so by visiting the groups page and clicking a button in the upper right hand corner that says "join this group")

II. Members can be banned from the group. If banned a member will not be able to clip stories to the group page. Members will, in most cases, not face an immediate ban for violating Current's community guidelines. Generally, a warning will be issued via current's private messaging system to the member who violated community guidelines. However, a member will face immediate expulsion if they threaten physical violence towards another user or public figure.*

III. Members can be promoted to the position of moderator. Moderators must unclip stories that do not belong under US Politics, feature stories, and issue warnings to members who do not follow the community guidelines**

IV. We have a cool new page design, which you can check out at the groups homepage.

---------------------------------------------------

Now I must address the prospect of a weekly update. I want to have a weekly post that raps up and features the top US Politics stories of the week. In addition, I want user generated content to be included ie opinion articles, webcams etc. Most importantly i want to know what you think should be included in these weekly posts! Give me your opinion, input and constructive criticism.

Lastly, some self promotion, if you're interested in world Politics I urge you to join the World Politics Group

Well that's it for today, so please chime in, I'll respond to all ?s regarding the group!
