Absolutely true. Every time politicians talk about keeping us secure I always ask myself “Security for whom, from what and what do you want me to give up to obtain your vision of security." I know whatever security solutions politicians propose I am probably not going to be anymore or less secure from the threat they've identified. But I am less secure from abuses of power by them.
I like the example of the Jews in the Ukraine town, who gave up free will and their own beliefs for what they perceived to be security. I wonder to extent this theme will be repeated again and again in America.
