Barbour's Lack of Moral Leadership

The Sons of Confederate Veterans has launched a campaign to recognize a Confederate General and KKK leader on a special Mississippi license plate. The NAACP and other organizations have called on Governor Haley Barbour to publicly denounce this effort, yet Barbour has not responded since the controversy began making headlines last week.

There's no excuse! The moment anyone proposes that a member of the KKK get any sort of honorable recognition, the proposal should be immediately, publicly, and emphatically condemned.

Barbour failed to denounce the proposal when the news broke and he failed to criticize it when he spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference this past weekend. Apparently he's too focused on his own presidential aspirations to step up and be a true leader, a moral leader, and and denounce the villains and the evils of the past.
