    • Wow... he is amazing. I love this pod... I'm just wondering how many cameras do you use? Looks like 10 cameras. You captured him from all the interesting angles. Great!

    • I was digging it all the way! Good POD, and some very tight editing.

I wonder if I will get to see this on Current UK?

    • I think some of his commentary gets lost in the strong rhythms of his drumming...maybe fade out the background music a little when he's talking?
Great angles, and I love the camera work.

    • hey hey! I just saw funk plastic perform at the portland trail blazer's vs. the sac kings last night! He and the rest of the crew were absolutely incredible, i had to look him up! He has such an amazing story to tell... he and the crew were spectacular and had more talent then i could even express! It was incredible! Good luck in the future and keep the soul alive on the portland streets!!

    • Sloan,

Used a shotgun mike on a really long cable, and had him do everything twice. Matched it up best as I could, if you look close you can see some shots where its obviously not matched audio. The best tip I can offer is to have fun, overshoot, and the clean up the mess latter.

    • "It's funky. You can't help but to dig it man."
I think that says it all.
Good use of natural sound. Good use of color in the editing.
Current, share this with the nation.

    • Only obvious critisism is the quote about physics in which the relation ship of "speed vs. velocity" is mentioned. They don't really oppose each other...Still an interesting piece

    • Good audio on this one -- which is crucial given the subject, obviously. Any tips/tricks to share? Did you use an external mic?

    • Insurgant,
Thanx. and I think you were dead on with your critique of my artist pod. Especially your comment about the pacing. Thanks again.

    • I greenlit your piece a few days ago, very well done. Honestly, it doesn't really compare to heading downtown and checking out a local SF bucket drummer, but the television will never be a substitute for reality.

I think this is exactly the sort of thing Current is looking for and assuming you have all your releases in order, I'd expect that as soon as Current notices your piece they will put it on air.

      Well done.

    • The drummer's name is Todd Irving, and he plays in and around Portland, OR. There was a title slate at the end of the original piece, but took it off as it had out dated contact info.

No, I don't have releases from the crowd, but I did have signs up at all of the access points alerting people that I was shooting, and that there image may be used.

Thanx again for the comments and the GL.

    • I liked it a lot. Cool guy, cool routine. Great point about street art. Maybe I would try to incorporate a specific routine.
