Joost carries commerical television and it's free
Sure, it's only streaming...but it's got a nicer interface and cooler selection.
I find Miro more as an aggregator than a media player

Miro is really cool if you have something you want there. For me it's DemocracyNow with Any Goodman in hires video. Since Time Warner Cable is too conservative to carry channels like Link and FSTV here in (guess...) Dallas, it provides me with a daily shot at news from someone outside of the corporate influence...I love the old movie feeds there too...ps I own a dual core p4 with a radeon v card and have bradband with xp2. never experienced a problem...even while downloading 2 videos and watching another...jp

Miro works great for me. I use it on Mac and Vista, and I do not notice many bugs. It is better to user Miro for video podcast, then iTunes (witch I used before).

Miro is still buggy, and the content is pretty poor.
IPTV is the future, but it isn't up to par just yet... - 4 years ago

Current was on Miro for quite some time actually. It's how I first heard about it. Then the Current feed mysteriously disappeared and it hasn't been updated since... Current.com launched. I've been wondering if there's a connection. Anyone else care to chime in?

Download the Miro player here. It's pretty useful for following channels and downloading video. And it doesn't mess with DRM like Joost...
