Article arguing that we should choose our words carefully when talking to non-vegans, to ensure that we don't isolate others from us and the vegan lifestyle.

    • That is so, so true! It's essential never to get confrontational. I seldom speak about my veganism until/unless I am ASKED about it.

I used to be the tour guides coordinator at Animal Acres (a farmed animal sanctuary), and I just invited people to sit down on the ground, wait for the various animals to come to them, and then get to pet or scratch or kiss one of these precious animals. When the person would subsequently ask why that particular turkey, or sheep, or cow, or pig was there, I would then "proceed with caution" as I spoke of the atrocities inflicted upon that being. There's nothing like watching their reactions as, after having just fallen in love with a goat, to hear this stuff... and to then put it altogether.

And now... after reading only your brief comment to your submission, I will actually READ the article.

      Thanks!!!
