With the 2010 general election rapidly approaching, Labour, The Conservatives
and The Liberal Democrats are busily campaigning. However, they are not
alone. Dotted all across the country are other more obscure parties running for
office in their respective constituencies. In fact over three hundred political
parties are currently registered with the electoral commission. Amongst the
single-issue campaign groups and the far right organizations are genuine,
eccentric alternatives like The True English Poetry Party, The Landless Peasant
Party and The New Millennium Bean Party. In a new one-hour documentary,
Current TV will travel the length and breadth of Britain meeting some of the UK’s
more obscure and peculiar groups that are vying for the public vote on May 6th.
Confirmed attendance from Captain Beany, a new superhero from Port Talbot
and the Common Sense Party who will be arriving in their yellow Submarine.
