Cheerleading Teacher Resigns

A teacher at an Arizona high school, who is also a cheerleading coach, performed a cheer as part of the lesson plan in her freshman english class. The video apparently went viral on youtube.

She has now elected to resign effective Dec. 31.

I watched the video, it didn't seem so bad to me. It seemed as though she just wanted to keep her classes attention.

    • Hey...at least she wasn't caught absconding to Mexico with a 13 year old illegal alien that she was sleeping with! This is harmless as far as I'm concerned. If only all teachers could be as "involved" in their teaching rather than simply blindly following a 30 year old lesson plan that they teach half asleep or state ordered, standardized test driven nonsense posing as "education" under Most Children Left Behind.

    • more than anything, this might be an indictment of her teaching ability. what next, setting yourself on fire in order to teach chemistry? how about, "listen to me because I know what I'm talking about and I care about your learning."

    • What's the big deal? I love how in the video they put some of her moves in slow-motion as if to imply she's doing something super sexual or inappropriate.

      I'm all for creative and alternative ways for keeping the attention of students and i don't think this really crossed any lines. I dunno what, if anything, she was saying during the cheer tho.
