Sarah E. Blessing, 28-year-old woman from Edison, New Jersey, has been sentenced to 364 days in jail to be followed by five years probation after she pleaded guilty to charges of criminal sexual contact and witness tampering.
Blessing admitted to having sex with a female student and asking her to withhold information about their relationship from the police. Under the plea deal prosecutors will recommended that Blessing be sentenced to a 364-day jail term and five years probation. Charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor will be dropped at sentencing.
In addition, Blessing is prohibited contact with the victim or any female under the age of 18 and must undergo mental health counseling. Blessing can no longer teach and will be barred from holding public employment in New Jersey.
