picking up the bill sleeve

a little context: i asked everyone to pick up their morning coffee from Starbucks, order as "Bill" and make sure the barista put his name on the sleeve. then, deliver the sleeve to his desk at some point during the day and wish him well before he utters those magical three words.
so, i take the train in with Bill in the morning -- which made stealthily ordering "as Bill" a little tougher than i'd thought. leading up to it, i'd considered grabbing coffee before hitting the train, but then it would lose the appeal of requesting a special message from the SOMA Starbucks he is oh, so "world famous" at.
i managed to sneak around him, and Bill just so happened to be engrossed in a in-depth conversation about quality of life or some other Bill-ism with Paul at the time. the barista laughed at my request, and i later learned that several others had already made the rounds.
here's to you Bill, best of luck in the future, and hopefully we can make lunch/dinner happen...although i will miss our train talks, although, my reading stack will get some much needed attention :)
